The only people who matter, or should matter, when it comes to this are those who went to that High School and those who have children going there. Anyone else should stay away from the entire process.

I don't know, I grow tired of the whole thing. Either they're athiest, socialist, and completely anti-Bush, or they're "Bible thumping," insanely pro-business, and will support Bush no matter what he does. The Left should at least try to acknowledge some positive things done by Bush, give credit where it's due. And the Right needs to start criticizing Bush for the stupid things that he is doing. Contrary to what you might think, not everyone hates Michael Moore. He can be a bit annoying at times, but he does indeed tell the truth, which is often not what many people want to hear. It seems as though those who hate him are often the ones who voice their opinions of him. If he was so hated, he wouldnt' have won the People's Choice...considering it's an award given by the People. The majority of Americans don't hate him, but the majority of us are sometimes annoyed by him I guess. Also, before someone brings this up, just because 51% of Americans who voted, voted for Bush, doesn't mean they all hate Michael Moore, or don't believe him. I happen to know quite a few people who despise Bush personally, but voted for him based on tax cuts...which I suppose doesn't say too much for their character.

Reminds me of a news story I saw a few years ago. The student council of Todd Rundgren's old high school in Philadelphia wanted to give him some sort of honor, but the principal vetoed it because Rundgren was--gasp!--a lousy student! The guy owns his own recording studio in Hawaii last I checked, but he's a bad role model for kids because of that C in American History! No wonder kids come out of high school all screwed up.

I watched Farenheight 9/11 and Bowling for Columbine, and I think the man makes some good points. He would have made them better if he wouldn't be so obnoxious and annoying about it. AAhh... The truth! Fantastic, I've been waiting to hear someone who actually has the truth behind his documentary.

What a stupid statement. Moore's film is an OPINION, like any doco. It puts forward, sometimes in a very strong, condensed form, an argument that is often contrived. Contrived does not been that it should be dismissed out of hand, however. Even animal documentaries are conveniently tampered with in order to show something that the producers want to demonstrate. Moore's film is a persaonal OPINION about the Bush admin and US foreign policy generally. Yes. you can pick it to pieces, but it gets people thinking about the nature of power politics and, I suppose, capitalism. Anybody who thinks that a doco is anything more than one perspective on a particular topic is naive.

On another point, the sheer magnitude of right wing propaganda that makes it into the mainstream of society via right wing, "neoliberal" press NEEDS to be countered by something like Moore's film. It is a statistical fact that most of the population get their news and info about the world from so called news pumped out by these information management corporations - such as Fox, CNN, etc. Moore has just jumped on the band wagon and used these same techniques to get people's attention about another side to the story, something that rarely happens.

He is a good filmmaker but allways when I see a film of his I want to see a film that tells the story of the other side, the side Moore attacks that is and then try to make my own judgement on what I think. It's allways kind of like his side is the only side to be on, all the others are wrong.

Actually I watched CNN the whole time, and it said BEFORE results came in that its goal was to be right not first. MSNBC was actually second to declare it over, after FOX.

We did need a 9-11 to wake up to the threat of terrorism. However, that does not meen that Bush, or anyone sane, wanted it to happen. That is something said afterwards. Just like we needed pearl harbor to happen. No one wanted it to happen, (besides the axis) but that was the only thing that got us moving. My fear is that if we don't close our boarders and fight the war with a Patton mindset, we may get attacked again. That would straiten us up, but it would be better if we could do it without loss of american civilian lives.

Did Bush lie to us? Probably, but it is the fault of the people that we believed him, clearly some people have not learned anything from history, the Vietnam years should have proven that they government can not and should not always be trusted, a majority of the Americans were in support of War with Iraq, hell I opposed Bush in 2000 because I knew he would eventually go to war with Iraq. We can look at all the bad sides of Iraq, which is what the liberal media will show us all day long, but that would be ignoring most of the positives about Iraq, after serving a tour in Iraq 70% of US Soldiers would serve another tour after seeing the horrors that Saddam committed against his own people. I for one chose to join knowing that I will probably go to Iraq and get to make a difference in the life of someone who has only known oppression all their lives.

And keep this in mind, Saddam Hussein gave money to Palestinian suicide bombers, oh and he gassed his own people and tryed to have an ex-American President killed, yeah, you guys are right, Iraq is in no way involved in the war on terror, it is Bush's personal crusade against the entire middle east, Israel is next you know.

Factory workers and miners don't need a college education, for the most part only the Elite of the Democratic Party have a college education.
