Fitness celebrity and television personality, John Basedow has been missing in Phuket, Thailand since the deadly Tsunami devastated the area where he was vacationing on Sunday, December 26th, 2004. Best know for his fitness video commercials, John Basedow has long been a part of the fitness community and has appeared in many health and fitness periodicals and television programs.


Certainly the man was kinda obnoxious, but he was no Tony Little, and I'm not one to dance on anyones grave-and I'd be far from wishing death on someone who is at best mildly annoying.

To top it off, John Basedow's plan was the most sensible of all the fitness deals-it was really just 'eat less, do more.' Not 'eat this pill' or 'the pizza diet' or '6 seconds to rippin' abs,' it was eat right and excercise for around at least 45 minutes.

But now he has been claimed by the tsunami. I guess I have to go back to picking on Tony Little......

I almost feel kinda bad, because I only found out today and I've been making fun of him solid for the last few weeks unabated.

Only kinda, cause I didn't know and don't know him personally, but still.....

That has always stuck me as the weirdest pose. It's like he's being chopped down in slow motion.

The Fitness Made Simple website has nothing on it, they even still advertise that you can talk to him, though I suspect that that has always been you can hear a recording of him talking about fitness....
