Question about the rules of war
Say Nation-A declares war on Nation-B. Does Nation-B HAVE to acknowledge that Nation-A has declared war? Or can Nation-B just leech off of an ally, say, Nation-C to defend for them and they do not have to act as if they are in a war at all?
Keep in mind, this is a hypothetical question. I know that obviously Nation-B would have to acknowledge that Nation-A is invading, etc. etc. But let's just pretend that we're not that smart, okay?

Interesting: particularly in situations were Nation-B does not even recognise Nation-A as a nation (or its government who issue a declaration of war as the legitimate government of that nation).

Yes, they should acknowledge, but go to C and whine about how A is a big meanie of a bully...

Well, Nation-B could just say piss off, but that wouldn't be too smart.

Depends on who nation b is. Iceland for instance would be defended by C if A declares war.

Of course, you can always "cheat" the system and do something like, purely hypothetically, declaring a "war on terror".
Or even a "war on drugs", or a "war on poverty".
Gives you the freedom to attack anyone really.
