lots of people are talking about this so I have decided to see what people think about Harry's blunder and if anyone is offended
I voted offended, but my actual response was "how stupid can you be?"..so I don't know if that counts as offended or not

The thing that really sucks is adolf hitler used to dress up as price harry all the time in the 30s, nobody ever made a fuss about it.

What a fucking joke, it's not as if he's slaughtered millions of people.
By the same reasoning he would have been slated had he dressed up as a roman soldier, a crusader, one day you won't be able to even GO to a fancy dress party without offending some twat with nothing better to think about.

I think it was an intentional attention grabbing stunt.
Being the younger sibling of the heir (once removed) to the British throne prolly leaves one with issues. Therapy might not be a bad idea...especially when one looks at the other trouble the kid gets into.
Oh - not offended. I may think it was a stupid act, but wouldn't be offended. My Jewish friends, however, probably would be.

exactly! it's political correctness gone mad! again
If you're offended by Fancy Dress, go and do us all a favour and jump off a cliff. Biggest fuss over nothing. THE HOLOCAUST WAS 60 YEARS AGO, GET OVER IT ALREADY.

she fancies prince harry.
i think the theme of the party was more offensive than his costume. its just a stunt to gain him some attention; he'll never be king - he knows it and isn't happy - why not fuck the rest of them. also it doesn't help that his dad's soon to be questioned over the murder of his mother. i think we'll be seeing a few more acts of 'stupidity' from the young prince as that time draws near

Your Jewish friends may well be offended, but are they offended by Harry's act? Or by the fact that the media has shoved it in their faces! Nazi Nazi! If the media hadn't made such a massive deal out of it I doubt hardly anyone would be offended. If anything it's the media jumping on any opportunity to cause trouble.

I would've voted "not offended", but this is just so fecking ridiculous. He was at a costume party, and decided on that. Why the hell does anyone care?!?

I agree with everyone who said it is political correctness gone mad its so stupid no one would care if i did it its just because he is the sone of the royals that he gets the attention. (Its only a party)
Does anyone realy care what the royals do??

I'm kind of curious about what other people were dressed up as?
It was a Colonial and Native themed party wasn't it?
So, if there was a Conquistadore there you'd expect some outrage since they very nearly succeeded in their genocide.
Puritan? Ditto.
How about a British East India soldier, they were kind of rough in India.
The whole concept of the party was tasteless and crass, Harry's was the most immiediately visceral, that's all.
That's why I voted "don't care".

Turns out that he had no idea what all the Nazi's did, which was the fault of his tutor. He still shouldn't have done it, but give the guy a break; it was a gaffe, and just a gaffe.
Not offended by the costume, but very offended by what the media did with it. They, after all, are the ones profiting off what the Nazis did. Even if gossiping about William and Harry wasn't wrong, that would be (not that I have a problem with people who write books about WW2 and therefore make money off them or anything like that; that's a very different situation, because they're actually educating people instead of just playing on their emotions).

You know we have threads on this one issue that extend halfway around the planet.
Yes it was wrong, even Prince Harry said it was wrong and apologized for doing it. Saying that it wasn't, trivializing WWII, or the holocaust isn't going to make matters any better, it just draws the whole matter out into sporadic epileptic fits of UK national introspection with Prince Harry headlined as the cause. So if you do "Fancy" the inbred twit, shut the fuck up.
Otherwise just keep it up! It's funny as hell watching the UK trivialize its past suffering and its single greatest victory.

And I suppose you know for certain what happened?
As for Harry, it wasnt even a correct costume. First of all, it was handmade. Second, the Afrika Korps didnt even wear the swastika badge. He wanted to wear a swastika, plain and simple. He used the "it's part of the costume" as an excuse. More people in the public eye need to do what Harry has done and help take away the taboo around the swastika and end the hate of Nazis. Afterall, you cannot fight hate with hate.

You are quite right. The majority of media outlets in America (ex. TV, Newspapers, etc.) are owned by Jews (Outside of the US, I dont know). So its in their best interest to blow things out of proportion and push their anti-Nazi agenda.

I guess it was only a matter of time before some conspiracy nut went and blamed this on the Jews...never mind that the British royal family is not Jewish and that American media outlets tend to be publicly owned. At least the big ones do, anyway...frankly this is an issue because the Nazi symbols, costumes, etc. are so stigmatized. Not just by Jews, though it's hard to blame them, but by most people. Those in eastern Europe hate the Nazis because the Nazis invaded and tried to exterminate them. Those in western Europe hate the Nazis because the Nazis were their enemies during war. Those in southern Europe hate the Nazis because the Italians eventually came to their senses, kicked out Mussolini, and fought the Nazis. Those in North America hate the Nazis because the Nazis were their enemies, though not to the degree the Japanese were. The Nazis never invaded North American soil, but both the U.S. and Canada fought the Nazis. The same goes for the Aussies and Kiwis.
Those in Asia don't feel as strongly about the Nazis, I don't think, but they don't care much for the Nazis' right-hand bullies, the Black Dragon regime of Japan. The Chinese are still largely bitter over being overrun by the Japanese in the 1930s, although the massacre of several hundred thousand Chinese doesn't seem to have the scale of the massacre of tens of millions in Europe. Perhaps it's a scale thing, or perhaps it's how many images of it we have. It's harder to feel sorry for the Chinese because the Chinese were so secretive for so long and have a poor human rights record, not to mention the Rape of Nanking is far less known to the world since the U.S. and Europe didn't really involve themselves in it. The U.S. and Europe liberated those in concentration camps. They didn't liberate the captured Chinese; the Russians did, at least according to most at the time.
This isn't to say that we shouldn't make a big deal about the Holocaust just because we don't have the same feelings about the Black Dragon regime or even the Stalin or Mao regines. We should hate those actions just as much as we hate the Nazis. The hammer and sickle should be just as offensive as the swastika, as should the Japanese imperial flag (the one with the rays of the sun going outward.) The Japanese don't use it anymore, but it still appears in pop culture. It even appears in a Strong Bad e-mail (go to www.homestarrunner.com and read through the Strong Bad e-mails, then click on the one titled "pom pom". It's funny as hell, but it does have that Japanese imperial design a little too prominently displayed.)
That said, dressing like a Nazi for a "fancy dress" event is just a dumb idea. Never mind whether people should be offended by it; people will be offended by it, and it's not like Prince Harry can dodge the spotlight at an event like this. He's bound to get noticed, and not in a good way, by doing this. I wasn't really offended by it, but I did think it was stupid, if not tasteless.

i clicked don't care, but i'll pretend i do so i can get those inbred gimps out of that damn palace.
there was some documentary with him off time team (the boring one who used to be funny in blackadder, not mental west country legend phil harding) that said there was a cock-up just before the tudors that means the rightful king emigrated to australia about 50 years ago. and he doesn't care. i bet the windsors'd feel well guilty if they had a wider gene pool and were thus able to feel proper emotions.
the royal family are a bit tetchy seeing as there's loads of pictures of them being matey with adolf from before the war, and prince philip practically is a nazi himself, only no-one's realised because we've stopped listening to the racist, colonialist gibberish that falls out of his stupid face whenever he opens it in public.
i haven't been made to sing 'god save the queen' at some public occasion without saying '****' at some point in the song in soooo long.
