I don't know why the crowd got so angry. Borat was only expressing his solidarity with the American people. It's not like he asked to touch their "hram".

Personally, I've never liked him. I've always thought of him as a bit of an idiot. But then that's probably just me.

I find him absolutely hillarious. He's the best thing to ever come over here from England.

He was funny on the eleven o'clock show. But I think the jokes worn a bit thin!

Yeah, I find his American show a bit crap. Except for the Borat bits. They never wear thin. :)

No I would say the Beatles, Rolling Stones, the Who, graham Norton, and Monty Python rank infintely higher than Sasha Baron Cohen. I wish there HAD been a riot and he would be stuck in the middle of it. Now THAT'S comedy.

Who are all those people?
Seriously. I've never laughed as hard as when I saw the Ali G episode where he trains at the Philadelphia police academy. Monty Python is ok, but not as funny as that. Graham Norton isn't all that funny to me. I'm not a big beatles fan. The stones have some good songs and a whole lot of shit. The who are the only one of the things you mentioned which may be better than Ali G.

Peter Cook is the best thing to come out of England.
Graham Nortons OK, but he's also Irish!

Agreed. In 5 minute interviews, especially when the interviewee had no idea it was a joke, he was funny!
Borat is ok, but again in small doses.

He's awesome. Anybody else see the Salon article on how exactly he sets up his interviews and appearances? Good insight on manipulation and advanced pranksterism.

I havent seen any of his recent stuff, but I had to do an essay about the opening titles to one of his shows and got out a video tape with bits and pieces of his interviews and skitz, for background information (I knew nothing about him). The skitz were mostly lame, but the interviews were classic. :D

Guy is funny as hell. He asks the dumbest questions and puts some very intellegent minds on the spot. He does his job, which is to be an annoyance and a pain.

Borat is the best. Through that character he really points out the ridiculousness of the people he is interviewing. Plus, the people think he's legit, which makes it that much more funny. I'm a fan.
