Seriously do you believe the end the world as we know it is coming?
If so when and more importantly how do you think everything will go down?
Personally I'm in favour of the Fallout scenario "China would invade Alaska, the US would annex Canda and the world would be destroyed in needles of atomic fire". Also feel to post anti-apocalyptic theories where the human race makes it out alive somehow. And please of course keep the ridiculus out of this thread.

Yes, I do believe it is coming. When and how I don't know exactly but I consider Matt 24&25 give some pretty good clues IMO.

Astronomers have discovered a meteor that could possibly hit the Earth. Now, it's still a 1:100,000 chance or something like that that it will hit, but, that's a lot slimmer than most odds in space. If it, God forbid, DOES hit, they expect it to be in 2013.

As for ways to protect yourself from the coming apocalypse, I'm wearing a slinky around my neck and I'm pretty sure it'll keep me alive no matter what happens. Whether I'll want to keep living after everyone else dies because they thought they'd look to foolish wearing slinkies is another story.

The "Doomsday" is not coming. Not the end of life as we know it, and if it was, I am not prepared because I don't have to be. I always live my life according to the odds, and odds are if the world comes to an end, I'll be dead, so oh well. And if I'm not I can live of non-parishable foods and I can find a gun.

I don't think the end is nigh. But if it is its a bugger cause i wanted to do so much I'll just have to resign myself to life in the kingdom of heaven. Since all those people who are v. religious have condemned me i think something is wrong God (in the Bible) advocated peace and turning the other cheek. I am making use of what god (if he exists I'm not sure) put down here however, the universe was created by the big bang so the theories are wrong.

Check out Matthew chapters 24 and 25 in the Bible. I consider them as providing significant clues about what things will be like when this world is coming to and end.

Hell, the U.S. would technically be better off if they ceded certain remote parts of the U.S. to Canada, I've heard tell that there are some parts of...and I'm probably getting it wrong here, but Michigan comes to mind...anyway, the residents don't have properly maintained road access or ferries - except to Canada. Apparently these people have been ignored to the point where they've been talking about secession, from their state, and from their nation - if only Canada would have them. I don't think the question was directed towards me, but I'll put my two cents in anyway. I don't think life without a god is meaningless. We create our own meaning. It could be to work for the betterment of one's nation, or to struggle to expand our knowledge through science. As for why people would restrain themselves it's probably out of empathy for their fellow man. I always question what's going on in the minds of people who ask "if there's no god why not go out robbing raping and killing?" It's like there's only an imaginary friend to keep them from being serial killers or something.

You forgot to mention one thing with the Fallout China/Canada theory. The reason China invades the United States in Fallout was because all the world's oil had dried up and the U.S. controlled the last reserve, hence China invaded Alaska. As to why Canada was annexed in the game I don't really remember.

China has been sold nuclear technology by Mr William Clinton... they have a couple billion people... the power to force them to do as they wish... and the patience to wait for generations... i think theyll take over the world... I'm sticking to my theory - China invades Taiwan, Korea and Japan. Means that China owns the biggest of the international technology producers, and becomes considerably more powerful.

Personally, I think we're setting ourselves up for another plague... a pandemic the like of which has never been seen before. Probably won't wipe out the entire population... I mean places like the Canadian Territories are pretty isolated. But yeah, definite population plunge.

You misunderstand. It's not that I don't believe in religion, it's that I'm not Christian. I'm Pagan. To be specific about my personal beliefs, I believe in balance and the natural order of things. I believe that Deity is in the sky, trees, people and animals...not in some far off place. I do not believe Deity is planning on distroying anything, because that would destroy Deity as well. I don't believe in a vengeful, angry god who acts like a spoiled child when people don't pay attention to him.

The World will end forever in 2012, we have but seven years to live! I dont know how it will happen, gray goo, nuclear fallout, nautral disaster, i dunno, but it will, I am certain this will be our fate.

All I am sure about in regards to how it will happen is the fact that Califonia will sink into the Pacific Ocean as a result of the biggest earthquake in earths history. Asteroids are involved somehow too.

You misunderstand. It's not that I don't believe in religion, it's that I'm not Christian. I'm Pagan. To be specific about my personal beliefs, I believe in balance and the natural order of things. I believe that Deity is in the sky, trees, people and animals...not in some far off place. I do not believe Deity is planning on distroying anything, because that would destroy Deity as well. I don't believe in a vengeful, angry god who acts like a spoiled child when people don't pay attention to him.

For the hundred years or so leading up to the year 1000AD very little happened in the Christian world, few wars, no new churches or castles etc. as they were convinced that the world would end in 1000/1001. When it didn't they waited a bit and then after about 40 years realised it wasn't and you had the sudden outburst of culture that was the beginning of the medieval era.
