Just wondering if anyone here ate strange or different food combo's? Things that normally are not eaten together? For example I like cranberry relish as a condiment of Chicken, turkey and ham sandwiches to which my family and friends think is disgusting. What are your strange food combo's?

I don't eat combinations. Even when I get side orders, I will eat them one at a time and won't start the next one until I get done with the first. I'm weird like that.

I didn't get it from anyone (that I know of). It is just something I do subconsciously. Must have something to do with my personality.

I thought that many of the eating habits we have are formed due to how we see our parents eat as children?

According to my mother, I used to eat all kinds of fish when I was very young. Then my father stopped working abroad (he hates fish) and I ended up eating less and less. As it is, I'm only just starting to learn to like it again.

Once I arrived home at 2am and there was purple stuff and green stuff in the fridge and I knew one of them was leftovers from dinner but I couldn't remember which so I mixed them, only woke up mildly sick the next morning.

The oddest combination I've made with healthier food is brown rice with fried eggs, curry powder, veggies (the frozen ones you can but in a bag), canned salmon and tuna. I mix it all up in a large bowl (so that I'll have enough to last four days) and then add ketchup, eat it for breakfast and have tons of energy without needing caffeine.

Not bad. Salmon goes quite nice with curry, but not tuna. And no ketchup. :p

Almost the same as steak tatare (the Italians have a version too). Raw beef (preferably a steak chopped into burger by hand so you see there's no contamination), egg yolk, anchovy, and seasoning.

That would sound good if you switched the ketchup for a mix of hot sauce and lime juice.

Or Schewan(sp?) sauce and lime juice.

Or Thai fish sauce and lime juice.

Lemon juice would work in a pinch.

Actually, I'm gonna make this soon. :D

Now - there I have to admit to a weird combo.

In MY book, the ONLY way to eat weetabix is to smear it with butter (like it was toast), sprinkle it with sliced banana and coarse brown sugar.

Yum.

i don't really eat a lot of weird stuff. the only thing i can think of is:
you take pickles (the spear-shape kind works best) and wrap them in ham slices and then put pepper on it. it's good.
this isn't really weird but last week i got a pizza with onions, garlic, and parsley and it was awesome.

I read that as "I thought that after eating many babies we are forced to see (blaablaa) how (blaablaa) parents eat children." Amazing how much such a change as "habits" to "babies" can change the immediate interpretation.
