this is gonna be a strange thread perhaps, but I see no harm in asking...

I'm a British citizen, my boyfriend is Canadian. We currently live in our repsective countires, but plan to be married in the next 2-5yrs, and will by then (hopefully before) will move to either his or my country.

my query is how does immigration work?

I know I phrased that to make me sound totally dumb, but I'm kinda sleey and words are never my strong point. It's just everything we've found on the net encompases families moving country, or individuals moving, but nothing on marrying someone with a different nationality and moving to be with them...

anyone with info?

I think that marrying someone is actually a very easy way of immigrating. Definately it's always seemed to me to be a fast-track thing, but I don't have any specific information.

Why don't you try phoning the Canadian embassy?
