Sound Forge is best and readily available on P2P networks. requires key though so make sure u d/l one that comes with its own.

I personally prefer Cool Edit Pro to Sound Forge, but possibly only because I have done quite a bit of work with it and so feel at home with it.

Of course, if you are against piracy and don't need all the bells and whistles that go with Sound Forge, then you could look at something like Audacity:

Have just realised: very expensive and complicated program with no manual is gonna be pretty useless to me.

sound forge is farily intuitive. if you've used other audio editing progs before its just like them just more to it.

I've downloaded some free thing of a website. It looks handleable.
