How can it get more obvious?

A lot of time is spent on these boards bashing the US...everything from the Iraq War to relief aid. Let's examine the list of pledges from around the world.

The areas hit by the tsunami have a large Muslim population, yet the richest Muslim countries are glaringly stingy in their pledges. Kuwait has such a large surplus, that it is going to be issuing "dividends" to its citizens. Has anyone brought this up, or is the US donation the only topic worth discussion?

Some Muslim spiritual leaders have said that the Muslim people in the stricken areas were being punished for associating with infidels at Christmas time. I didn't read about that on here, only the wild claims of some fringe Christian groups in the US were debated as if they were the views of all Americans.

It seems that the people who should be first on the list of aid are the ones who are more interested in their religious and political agendas.

How can this tunnel vision be defended?

I think that has been done before, and the discussion was eventually warped into America bashing.

Ah, the wonders of tunnel vision and locked blinders.

It seems like people were complaining when the US was getting ripped for being stingy, saying that the initial contribution was only the beginning. But I look at a lot of the Muslim countries and it says that those contributions are only the initial contributions. Maybe we should wait and see if they follow through before we condemn them, kind of like people were saying we should do with the United States.

Why muslim nations? The nations that were hit were Asian countries, why shouldnt be Asian countries on the top of the list? And does that really matter? The bottom line is, there are two types of countries: The ones that try to help at the maximum of their capabilities, and the ones that dont.

East timor, which is one of the tiniest and poorest countries on earth gave away half the aid that was destined to them for the victims of the Tsunami.. that is generosity!

PS: Can anyone find a list that isnt incomplete like that one? Many donor countries are missing.

That is the point I was trying to make. Why are there dozens of folks on here that take every opportunity to bash the US, but conveniently ignore the actions (or lack of action) in other countries?
