No, this is not a thread on sexual fantasy. It is in fact a thread to see how many people saw the Jerry Springer Opera on BBC2 last night - and also to see what people thought.

Personally, I loved it even though its slighlty overrated in its shocking ability. I especially liked the 'Mama Gimmee Smack on the Asshole' - http://www.jerryspringertheopera.com/jerry_opera.html (for a sample) and also the 'Talk to the Hand' number by the transexual necrophiliac.
I suppose you could say it was original at least.

I forgot it was on, but I went to the pub for 2 pints, intending to be back by 10... and of course I ended up having 10 pints... and being back by 2...

I hope it gets shown again though, it sounds like a laugh. I can't stand the show itself though. It makes me wish for machine gun emplacements in the rafters.

I can't believe NO ONE on this site saw it - its disgraceful. And with all the free publicity it got as well.............very strange, and slightly disappointing: I was looking forward to discussing Jesus being 'a bit gay' and the ins and outs of '3 nippled cousin f*ckers'

Jerry Springer, usualy you would have to sit in a Greyhound bus station in the Ozarks for hours to hear that quality and quanity of conversation.

I saw it, indeed i watched the whole way through, and i loved it. But can i just say that we were SO using the phrase throw him to the lesbians before Jerry Springer the Opera :P. We were.

I found the constant warngings about how terribly offensive it would be very funny. And can i just ask, is there any straight guy who isnt attracted to the idea of being thrown to the lesbians. When i put it as my sign in name on msn so many people would just start a conversation with "please do" and i can tell you thats damned annoying.

Heh. I saw it. It was odd, but hilarious. Very funny to see rampant obscenity sung in traditional operatic style.

After all the publicity it got I decided to watch it. From a Christian background I was unsure what it would be like and found it to be very odd, but in a strange way original. On the blashphemy side of thing sI believe it is ok if you take it to be a piece of drama and not real life. I don't think it was meant to be taken seriously and therefore none of these protestors have a real case.

Thank God someone saw it - I've asked all my mates today and they were either drunk, watching something else, asleep or had watched a bit of it, thought is was weird and turned it off.

And, unfortnately your advise about the msn name came to late. By that point I had already changed my name to 'dip me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians', and within around 30 seconds 14 people (of whom i rarely speak to normally) had asked about it, or had made pathetic, unfunny, slightly homophobic or sexist 'jokes' about it (hence me rarely speaking to them)

Anyhoo, what was everyones favourite song? I'm desperately trying to keep most of them in my head for when i go back to college tomorrow - and hopefully sing them all full blast on my lunch break, especially the 'Mama gimmee smack on the Asshole' number.

This wasn't Jerry Springer, it was Jerry Springer The Opera, a contraversial stage performance that yesterday got shown on BBC.
