Anyone here want to RP X-Men?
Alrighty. This is what's up. I have an RPG that could use a few extra members. There's 120,000-odd people on here, who like RP, maybe not this particular type of RP, but odds are there's someone, right?
Currently, the RP will be done via IRC (for live action sort of stuff), message board (char development and a place to put logs) and AIM (for one-on-one RPs). Getting AIM is a requirement for this RP. I will want to talk to you, and possibly get an 'audition' of your character.
Now that I've rambled, to describe said RP from the perspective of the RP:
It's set in the year 2005, which is just starting of course. Mutants have been publicly known for almost a decade (since 1997 or so) but not a whole lot has happened on that front. Also, unlike Marvel continuity, the geography is EXACTLY like modern IRL geography. No made-up countries, everything happens in the context of the modern geopolitical situation.
There is not really a formal X-Men team yet. Of course, there will be soon enough. There's currently two different groups of RPers, the X-Men proper, which are older chars (18-21 preferred) and the New Mutants (14-17). The New Mutants attend the Mansion like a boarding school, the X-Men can also take courses at Empire State University. Salem Centre, the community the Mansion is in, is connected to New York City by a bullet train.
There's some rules about applying for characters that should be in the 'Questions and Stuff' forum of the board. Non-canon chars are allowed, but only with a really good application, if it follows the rules and I approve it. Just some broad guidelines. No uberpowered chars, no major X-villains, not Wolverine or Emma Frost and no telepaths for the X-Men. We've got three.
Characters may or may not be expected to do a little 'audition' for me. If you have questions, ask me or read the 'Questions and Stuff'. It's just starting.

It doesn't seem to be working now. We might end up having to do simming by AIM using a chat room if the IRC channel continues to fail working.
