I love Hank, but Johnny Cash is hard to top.

Early one morning while makin' my rounds,
I took a shot o' cocaine,
and I shot my woman down.
I went right home
and I went to bed,
I stuck that lovin' .44 beneath my head.

That song rules! Hank Williams the Third does a cover of it too! I voted for Hank because his songs can make a full grown man weep, but Johnny is a better in a lot of other ways. Johnny at least has some fun/uplifting songs like that going down to jackson song but I just like Hank's voice a lot better.

Yes, I could not disagree with anyone who voted for Hank in this. My choice is based more on the fact that I have been listening to a lot of Johnny lately. Any other month, who knows?

I'd say Johnny simply because he re-invented himself at the end of his career and started doing stuff like "Hurt". Any country singer who's able to cover NIN songs and make them BETTER is a genius.

I voted for Hank, by Hank I assume you mean Senior.
While i love old Bo to death Jr. and all the boys wouldnt be jack if it wasnt for Senior.
Being a punk fan from way back I love the Man In Black, but if you asked him who the King was--He would say Hank Williams.
The trifecta is amzing though:
Hank
HankJr
HankIII

I don’t even like country music, but I make an exception for Johnny Cash.

Once in the Junior Ranks Mess, someone put some Johnny on during a party and someone asked why they were playing this crap. He was quickly set upon and told that you didn’t talk about Johnny that way. He even wrote books you know.

Yeah Johnny Cash I believe wrote more than one auto biography, I read one it was pretty good. All the best parts are about when he is messed up on speed, there was one particularly crazy story where he saw a beehive and decided he wanted some honey. In order to get at the beehive which was up in a tree he wrapped a chain around the tree and hooked it up to his truck. His intention was too pull the tree down, but instead all that happened when he floored his truck was he went flying through the glass windshield and knocked himself unconscious for like a couple of days. He was a crazy S.O.B. when he was on drugs thats for sure.

Nay, he was just saying what modern music he likes which is fine. The only people who you get to feed to the ants are those who say "Jonnny and hank sux! Garth Rulz!"

What about Billy Ray Cyrus?
'Achy Breaky Heart' must surely top the all-time best country songs lists!
