I've never heard of him, although he sounds a lot like most Southern Republicans.

He's a neoconservative Republicrud. Need I say more? ;)

I fail to see what is frightening at all about that.

Indeed; the sound of President Gingritch is...horrible.
Not the Newt! Please, not the Newt!

He was speaker of the house during the second Clinton term. Made it his business to push through the "contract with America".

I haven't read much about him, but if he criticises Bush, then I do not see how he could be all that bad.

You haven't been following politics for very long, have you?
It doesn't matter anyway. He's got so much dirt on him that he wouldn't even survive Republican primaries, nevermind an actual presidential campaign.

Unless for some inexplicable reason he was Rove's boy, he wouldn't survive primaries. Remember what the Bush campaign did to McCain in 2000? Now imagine what they could do to someone that actually has a lot of skeletons in his closet.

That was actually why he sounded like a good candidate to me. I hadn't heard much about him previously, but I think I'd love it if he was the GOP candidate for '08.

Newt Gingrich.
How can I say this without offending anyone's delicate sensibilities?
He's human jock itch. *nod*
Scummy wife-cheating child support-dodging piece of human filth. If he fell into a vat of raw sewage, I'd stand on the edge holding my nose going, "EWWWW Newt Gingrich!" :p

Gingrich... Newt Gingrich, what do I know about him?
Oh yes, I remember. He was the de facto leader of the "crucify Clinton" campaign in 1998, while getting divorced from his wife over his own adultery.
Is there a funnier story of hypocrisy?
PS. he's also a top 500 book reviewer at amazon.com \m/ :)
A Gingrich presidency would be a nightmare.
Worse than Bush? *note: I'm not advocating "Gingrich 4 prez"*

lol. "Insta-loss".
Come on tho, ya know that Kucinich would have been a good president. I suppose he was too left-wing for Americans though.

No, definitely not.
