Did anyone see this last night? Unfortunately it was on C4 so lots of Americans will have been unable to see it, but anyone who did see it I want to know - what did you think? Was it real i.e. did he convince these people that he was a psychic/evangelist minister/person who talks to the dead/alien abductee/dream interpreter? Or was the entire programme a fake, and we were all conned? If it was real, then I wish he would write a book about it.
So. Any thoughts?

I only saw the bit with that American couple and their illnesses. That seemed a bit too good to be true didnt it? He blatantly got them to tell him about it beforehand, so he looks really cool on the programme.

Yeah, that one was a bit iffy, but the talking to dead people was 'explained' as a technique used by mediums since mediums were first around.

Well, I agree with that statement. Brown admits straight away that he is a liar. Unfortunately that creates a paradox, which is why I set up this thread. I think. Ow. My brain hurts :p

Derren Brown uses simple psycology and parlour tricks and says that he is doing it.

Right the one I saw started off with derren saying does anyone know a paula, Of course someone does. Looking at the persons reaction he can fierst of all tell the closeness of the relationship with that person. FOund out that it was the mother after a few queations. Guess the age of the girl, know the mums dead then can make a guess as to what age the mum dies (40's or 50's I think he said) Girl about 20, guess child birthing age from 20-30, he's gonna be about right.

Nothing magic and he admits it, Just tricks we call do.

How many of you read the stars and believe in astrology. TBH, read another star signs stars and oyu will see they apply equally to you and are about as accurate.

If you are reading this then I can easily say and this will apply to the majority of people.

A relative is causing you concern. You feel your money situation could be better etc etc. Just general things.

Anyway, I think Derren Brown is rather nifty, but it seems to good to be true, I mean everything seems to work out so well.

And the whole evangelism part looked kind of staged.
