Does anyone here have Hearts of Iron 2?

If so, where did you buy it from and how do you like it?

I'll probably buy it the moment I see it in the stores :D

Hearts of Iron 1 was quite okay, but nowhere near Europa Universalis 2 or Crusader Kings though
But I heard much great things about HOI2!

You might want to check out the Europa Universalis forums, Kahta, you can order directly from Paradox (I ordered CK without any problems) and they have a VERY active forum!

Edit : Ehhh, I forgot, the link to the EU forum is www.europa-universalis.com ;)

It came out three days ago, I believe, so chances are it's already in stores.

I wanted them to add an option for genocide. Or at least province populations like in EU2. So you can see real population drops due to fighting.
But I don't think they went with my recommodations. :(

Yeah, that and the historical graphics for certain countries really would have added a great value to the game..

But yeah, fortunately, mods are available on the internet if you look long enough..

Also sabotage missions would have been nice. Or the option to cause insurrections. They promised the possibility of guerillia war if dissent rises in HoI1. But I havent had any guerillia's so far. :(

It came out 3 days ago, but Atari (responsible for NA marketing and sales), didn't produce enough HoI2 to meet demand, since they weren't expecting a big sale (it is a niche title after all, but still, these mistakes are pretty bad for Atari). The big sellers like EB and Amazon are waybacked up for the game, and don't have enough copies to send to pre-orders and their stores, so the release was technically backed up to the 7th, though large areas of NA still are without it. The local EB here says they'll have it tommorow, and I came in an hour late to Gamespot for it, they sold their last copy then.

So far I've at least liked all of the Paradox games I have tried. Europa Universalis (I & II) were spectacular! Two Kings was was not bad. I enjoyed Crusader Kings, but that was more from a historical standpoint. Never played Victoria (yet). Hearts of Iron was amazing, once the patches came through. That's been Paradox's biggest problem so far. Their games have been released way before they were ready for the world.

Fortunately, they are very quick to create and release patches. These patches didn't only fix bugs and whatnot, a lot of them also added new UI enhancements and more features.

I will be buying HoI2! No doubts at all. If you want a really good review with many screens and a loads of other goodies, try The Wargammer.

Play Victoria, see how you like it. I know a lot of the die-hard Paradox fans loved it, but I know that although I liked the other games of theirs I had played, I couldn't stand Victoria..
