*the corporate parasites of America who pollute our world export our jobs and make govt hurt the people in the interests of corporate greed are Bushs only constituencey when you consider the character of every single one of his white collor criminal appointees

The LA Times is reporting that a powerful business lobby is preparing a multimillion-dollar campaign to aid the White House in its quest to win approval for conservative judges. The new effort on behalf of some of the nation's biggest manufacturers will increase the cost, visibility and intensity of an already divisive confirmation process, one that has been dominated by social issues.

The shift puts the business lobby on the same side as social conservatives. The man behind the campaign is former Michigan Governor John Engler, a longtime friend of President Bush who recently took the helm of the National Association of Manufacturers.

Engler said in an interview Wednesday that his organization would make confirmation of judicial nominees a top priority for the first time - providing money and a recently honed ability to stir grass-roots action nationwide. The group plans to spend millions of dollars on the campaign, but the exact amount has not been decided. The Manufacturers Association represents such large, blue-chip firms as General Motors, Boeing and Caterpillar as well as 10,000 small and medium-sized manufacturers. Analysts say the campaign will increase pressure on moderate senators whose votes helped block confirmation for 10 of the 34 Bush nominees to federal appeals courts in the past two years. Several of those senators face reelection in 2006 and are already facing threats from religious conservative leaders if they try to block conservative jurists.

Except for the Libertarians, the Constitutionalsists, and the Greens, that's pretty much true of all parties. Get over it.

That about sums it up. Democrat-Republican... doesn't matter. Just depends on which corp or special intrest group you prefer. Sadly most people who call themselves democrats or republican actually think their party gives a dam about them.

Anyone who listens to Engler is an idiot. That guy sucks at life, which is why Michigan kicked his ass.

I'll be worried if the representatives be philosophers or intellectuals who think they know it all but haven't worked in the real world for a single day of their life.

Hey lets get a bum on the street as a representative. So that we'll get a bum's on the streets point of view.

Thats not too far from how it was origionaly intended. Carrer polititians were not meant to exist. The origional intent was for the average farmer, merchant, facory owner, etc to take a couple years out of his life and serve a term or two. Public service was suposed to be a sacrifice.

Unfortunately alot of polititians quickly learned they can make alot more money in office than they could legitimately. Parasites

Who cares? If they can do their job reasonably well, I could care less who they are.

That's the problem; they can't do their job as well as they should. Career polititians have become the new aristocracy. They get fat on special intrest dollars while the rest of us have to bust our asses just to get by. The only power we haover them is voting them out. Sadly, many people just don't care. The status quo is good enough. Personaly, I think this county is better than good enough

I guess the American Neocon faction hasn’t logged on yet ir this thread would be flamed. Before they do I'd just like to day that all politicians are nothing more than corporate shills in this day and age.

Kerry and Bush were essentially the same candidate, the only purpose the election served was as a barometer to show the scale of how much the American people would allow themselves to be screwed over by the powers that be.

Most political leaders suck and are controlled by the people who give them money. It's not one side or the other. The system is flawed, but so is every other system

Yeah, one of his 'economic' advisors was pres. of the CSX railroad. They (and most other RR's in the US & Canada ) are being run into the ground by trucking companies. His new one is/was pres. of Kelloggs. Um, sadly the tiger's not that great kids.
