Cannot think of a name

Talking to Americans was a show where a Canadian comedian went around the States and asked various people (famous or otherwise) questions about Canada. The joke was the questions were all ridiculous lies about the country (along the lines of "Are you glad Canada's building the 'Peter Mansbridge' to cross the St. Lawrence River?") and the Americans didn't catch on.

I think the title of the thread is one of the things the guy got some people to say. But I haven't seen that show for a couple years so I could be wrong.

Ah. It would have been nice if there was some sort of context to that original statement. It now makes more sense. Thank you.

I'm almost certain you're right.

When's the next episode to air? I saw the commercial on CBC but forgot to pay attention.

...now that there's no hockey, they bring back "Talking to Americans." Further proof that Canada's national sport is officially "making fun of Americans." (I mean, who pays attention to lacrosse up here anyway!?)

I love "Talking to Americans", it shows during "This Hour Has 22 Minutes". Rick Mercer goes around America (universities, tourist attractions, national landmarks, etc) and asks stupid questions or asks for comments ones that I can remember off the top of my head:

Rick M.: So in Canada we have this tradition where we send our seniors to the North Pole through chunks of ice from an iceberg once a year and we have a big celebration, wanna comment?
...and everyone was congratulating the seniors and hoping them a happy trip and stuff.

Rick M.: So since Canada is using the metric system we're also using a clock that only goes from 1-10, unlike in America where there's 12. But we're losing 4 hours per day and so we're trying to pass a legislation to use a 1-12 clock instead.
...responses: well it's about time! / that's a great idea. / so what year is canada in right now?

Rick M.: Can you name all the states in Canada?
...responses were all wrong, there was a mom and a 6 yr old kid:
Mom: states? there's ontario, quebec, ...
6 yr old child: Mom Canada has provinces and territories, not states!
*camera zooms in on Rick and he raises his eyebrows and holds back a laugh*
