Im kind of sick of hearing about it honestly. The stingy comment came after the donation of 35 million. When it was upped to 350 million the very person who made it basically retracted it and said that the help was invaluable ..blah blah blah.

35 million is a bit stingy...350 less so, and sending the troops in to help even less so when there is a war going on. Get over it people.

The complaint was that the US acted too slowly in giving aid. It is true, we were kind of slow in responding, and natural disasters like that don't wait for governments to realise the full scope of the threat. But the US is indeed being extremely stingy. Japan donated $500 million, with a much lower GDP. This is the only one I remember, but we're being outdone by mostly every other major nation. And Norway. With the population of New Jersey or something like that. It's pathetic.
