I am pessimistic enough to feel that even if both sides signed a peace treaty tommorrow that made them both happy and satisfied, the killing would'nt stop. There are way too many, on both sides, that have been involved in violence all their lives, and simply would'nt know how to put the bloody guns down.

Reminds me of the beginning of "Run Like Hell" from Pink Floyd's The Wall. And I am chilled to the bone by that image. I'm glad I'm not alone.

In the American Revolution the Americans saluted their officers in the same manner as the Brittish did, that did not make them Brittish soldiers.
Today their is NO official "Nazi" group, not like the one in Germany during WWII.

Why is anybody surprised? Fatah is the main faction of the PLO and PLO was founded by the surviving Nazis explicitly "to finish the job". Arafat's relative (and the first spiritual leader of PLO) took part in the Wannsee Conference (in January 1942) - the one which adopted the Final Solution. I'm only surprised that Reuters published this photo. On 9/11 they published photos of Palestinians dancing in the street but then quickly yanked them (so now it's very hard to find any pictures on the Net) after Arafat threatened extreme violence.

Actually if you want to get technical about it, we originally used that salute for the pledge of allegiance. My problem is not with the salute itself so much as it occuring in an orginisation pretty much dedicated to one of the main goals of Hitler and the Nazi Party.

Not so suprising when you know the real history of the Jewish/Muslim conflict. If you have the time, look up the name Amin Al Husseini and the Hanzar SS. Al Husseini was an Ottoman Officer who hated the west after the breakup of the Ottoman empire, became a devoted Nazi with close ties to Hitler, and was instrumental in the formation and oversight of the Hanzar Waffen SS (responsible for the extermination of tens of thousands of Jews).

Husseini also founded the World Islamic Conference, actively called on Palestinians to "exterminate the Jews" (before Israel ever existed), and incited multiple anti Jewish riots and local pogroms in the middle east. By the time he died in 1974 he had extensively influenced the development of Islamic governments from Pakistan to Malaysia and counted among his disciples known names like Egypt's Nasser and Palestines Arafat.

Thats the same thing people said about the American colonys, that it is not an American nation but the Revolution changed that. Ant if what you said is true then there are no Americans (U.S.) in the world. If we take the white poppulation in the U.S. for eg. then they are mostly Germans and just built another country.

Arafat was not merely a disciple but also a relative, and his real last name was actually Al Husseini. And you omitted the fact that Al Husseini participated in the Wannsee Conference.

Why oh why do jews, christians and moslems have to fight? Can't they just accept that they all worship the same God, and by wiping out other montheistic religions they will look better in his eyes? I did German language GCSE and A level and were taught that German-Americans were the largest ethnic group in the U.S. The census seems to agree with this.
