If I've missed any in the poll, I'm sorry.
Please keep it to English language shown-on-TV-before-2000, please.

Read or Die is the only anime I've liked dubbed. And that's merely because of the awesome British accents. In all cases, including RoD, I prefer the subtitles versions.

I think it was 'prior to 2000' anime but screw it :D
Hellsing was great. The British accents worked. I didn't think they had as much attitude as the japanese versions though.
Neon Genesis Evangelion was also better in english IMHO.
It is really rare that the Dub is as good or better than the original. American companies seem to be improving their voice actor pool though.

Spike did a great job as the lead in Neon Genesis, those couple of last episodes were artisitic brilliance.

Well...most of the anime was dubbed in Canada...so it would be "Canadian..." But anyway, to the point...I liked the english dubs of Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and Fooly Cooly. My most favorite outa all of them is Trigun.

Astroboy. I'm surprised it's not on the poll.
The show is *very* old, and I had to make a cut somewhere, I was born in '73, and even *I've* never seen it... and I grew up around NYC: not a small tv market.
Well, my favorite anime (dubbed or otherwise, although the dub is what got me into it) is DBZ...
In fact, see my username? It's an acronym for my "internet identity", SuperSaiyanGokuX (I use that username, or this abbreviation, for everything I sign up for on the net)...
Prior to DBZ, I wasn't an anime fan (well, besides watching Voltron, Speed Racer, G Force, Robotech, Mazinger, etc as a child, before I knew what anime even was)...
I caught DBZ on Cartoon Network during the first airing of season 1, and I've been hooked ever since...
Although, I do enjoy most of the other titles that have come to CN (and a few that I've picked up on my own)... And I can agree that in terms of quality (both translation/dub quality, and overall story quality), many of them are "better" than DBZ... However, I still really love it, much, much more than everything else...
How much more? This much... (http://www.geocities.com/supersaiyangokux/roompics.html) :D

Cowboy Bebop kicked major ass. Even if the actual dubbing had gotten a little weird, the soundtrack could have saved it. Yoko Kanno is brilliant.

The ONLY anime I have ever seen that is worth a crap is Cowboy Beebop.
Good Characters (Ed is my favorite), nice animation, and excelent writing.
DBZ is the devil. Infantile stories aside, ask anyone who knows anything about art or animation and they will tell you that that thing is horrid.

I have to agree with you about DBZ, although I was hesitant to say anything about it. The creators had a bit of a quality versus quantity problem....

All Dubs are horrible.
Save Jap hentai (can't stand the girls squeaking *Sugoi Sugoi* in japanese) :D
Why can't they just sub it and keep them speaking in Japanese? At least we would learn to speak Japanese at the same time?
