UFOs, aleins, people on Mars..... Is it all fake or all fact?

OOC: Just curious and by the way, I know there are no people on Mars, so you can stop posting abouty that part...

I have no reason to suspect that the earth is the only planet in the universe to support any form of intelligent life.(though it may be the only planet in the universe to be supporting intelligent life at this time )

However I have no reason to suspect that the earth has been visited by intelligent life from another world

I do believe that people have sited flying objects that they have been unable to identify- hence I do believe in UFOs. However as the objects are unidentifed I have no reason to believe that they are alien vessels, simply that they are unidentifed.

OOC: Just curious
UFO's: Yes, unidentified objects do exist. Go figure. :-)
Aliens: I believe in the probability of life on other planets. Not human life, or even human-like, but life none-the-less.
People are Mars: Well, as astrology is one of my hobbies, I can certainly agree that people are Mars (meaning that the symbol of Mars characterizes a human trait: aggressiveness). As to people on Mars, I can only say, not at the moment.

Yes - I fully believe in life on other planets

But somewhere out there, something's watching us. There are alien forces acting in ways we can't perceive. Are we alone in the universe? Impossible, when you consider the wonders that exist all around us. Voodoo priests of Haiti, Tibetin numerologists of Appalachia, the unsolved mysteries of... Unsolved Mysteries! The truth is out there!

I had to quote from Mulder ;-)

There is a chap called Michio Kaku who reckons that once an alien civilisation gets itself to the stage where it can make nuclear weapons it probably blows the shit out of itself within a century or two* - wish I could remember the name of his book.

Living in southern Arizona, it would be foolish of me not believe in aliens. They sneak over the border, mess with livestock, and crash theier vehicles all over the place. But members of the government deny it.

Yes but I don't believe that there is life on Mars.

I believe that it is almost a certainty that there is other intelligent life in our universe and galaxy.

I also think it's likely that some of these extraterrestrials have visited us. I have difficulty believing that all of the thousands of people who have seen aliens or their spacecraft are crazy, stupid or liars.

I’m not sure about UFOs but the universe is so large (or so we are lead to think) that I find it impossible to believe that earth is the only planet in it that supports life.

As to life on Mars I believe that there may be very simple organisms not yet with the capacity to develop UFOs (even though humans managed it).

Any 'aliens' that there are going to be so different from anything on earth that I have doubts as to whether they would be recognised/accepted as what they are.

I think the possibilities are endless, but so is man's destrucivity...anything that is found unless superior to us (which hopefully it will be) will be destroyed within a few generations.

I don't find it difficult at all to beleive that all the people who claim to have seen aliens and spacecraft are either participating in a hoax, or delusional (though often just temporarily) or just mistaken. Have you ever read The Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan? It explains away many of the common "alien" phenomena.

that's exactly my thought. I think it's really unlikely that we're the only planet that can host and will ever host other life forms. the universe could be infinite. who knows. saying that there are no aliens I think will one day be teh modern age's "the earth is square".

Of course, I doubt that they're green things with corcular air ships and stuff like that.

If there are aliens, where are they?
1)alien life may not be advanced enough to be able to use technology
2)alien life may not be technologically advanced enough to be detectable by us at our present level of technology
3)alien life may be technologically advanced enough to be aware that there is "intelligent" life on earth but may view us as not worth contacting.
(after all a civilisation advanced enough to travel here is advanced enough to need nothing that humanity has to offer; we may go and see monkeys in the zoo but we dont trade with them, socialise with them , since we view them as our inferiors.

ok, for all of those who said UFOs don't exist, then your saying the 10,000 people who have reported them over history (as far back as the 1400's) were all just on LSD or crazy instead? Run a search on UFOs and you'll be suprised some of the stuff you can find.

We've been sending out radio signals for about a century. Anyone with a sufficiently sensitive receiver within approx 100 lightyears knows we exist. What brings me to my opinions regarding aliens & such:

Do i believe in UFOs?
No, i know there are Unidentified Flying Objects. (I, for one, have seen one; not counting that one time i mistook Venus for an alien spacecraft.)

Do i believe UFOs extra-terrestrial spacecraft?
No. They're probably misunderstood meteorological, astronomical (I'm not the first to mistake Venus for an extra-terrestrial spacecraft. :) ), and/or atmospherical phenomena.

Do i believe there's life elsewhere in the Universe?
Yes, to the point of being nearly convinced. (Maybe not in the Solar system, but certainly in our Galaxy.)

Do i believe there's intelligent life elsewhere in the Universe?
Maybe. (Certainly not in the Solar system, but maybe in our Galaxy.)

Do i believe there's technologically advanced (our level or beyond) intelligent life elsewhere in the Universe?
Maybe, but if there are any, they're scattered far & wide with large distances between them and us (Probably not in our Galaxy, but possibly in other galaxies.)

i believe in illegal aliens

SOOO funny, you could get a book our of that. Yes I do believe in aliens. It's naive to think that in the entire universe-which we're told is infinite that we could be the only humanoid life forms. There must be a more advanced race wathcing us right now -ooooooooo. Or maybe not.

But if you believe in aliens...do you believe in God and more importantly the bible or what ever your religious guide may be!

No. I'm sure they exist, but I don't believe in them.

Also, your thread title and poll question frighten and confuse me. Do you want to know if I "believe in" aliens, or UFOs? And in either case, why would you ask such a stupid question?

Of course there are aliens, I've seem them, legal and illegal, from south of the border. As for aliens from off the planet, well, who the fuck knows, eh? And I've seen my fair share of UFOs, but I'm pretty sure most of them were planes or helicopters. Just because it's flying and you don't know what it is doesn't mean that it is a craft from another planet. The frequency with which UFOs become IFOs is startling.

Why worry about extraterrestrial lifeforms when we can't even manage to feed our own homeless people here on earth?

They saw something they couldn't identify. I don't beleive they saw spacecraft from another planet. Not all were crazy. Some hoaxers, some were tricked by hoaxers, some mistook a normal event for alien craft.
For an alien to visit earth he would have to find a way to travel faster than light (impossible) or he would have to commit to a trip lasting several million years.

Not seen any proof during my lifetime either way.

I've seen and read about the weird govn't coverup's. If intelligent beings do exist out there and are visiting our planet in peace ..it's just a matter of time before we do something to really piss them off. That is if they are capable of being pissed off.

Voting not sure on the grounds that both the OP and poll are unclear.

Do I believe in UFOs?

Yes, I believe that people see things "flying" in the sky which they are unable to idenitfy, even if it might be properly identified as, say a weather balloon. That's the proper definition of UFO as I understand it.

Yes, I believe that aliens exist. I am a legal alien, and have the visa and alien registration card to prove it.

Yes, I believe that it is highly probable that other lifeforms exist in the universe.

No, I don't believe in UFOs or aliens a la Fox Mulder.
