I smell money. And greasy hamburgers. Infact, I just ate at McDonalds today. They made me gain weight! Sonova..! They'll pay, and way more than I did for the greasy hamburger I ordered and wanted!

It was a little more than "I'm fat and someone owes me money." Strange how a corporate news media would characterize liability suits against corporations as crackpot...why no one ever makes a non-crackpot suit against corporations, or so the corporate news structure would have us believe.

"But dude. C'mon. It's all about the money."

Well, duh. That's the system you all championed. Capatalism. When does something change in a capatalist society? When it's all about the money.

And what became of this? McDonalds stopped with the Super-Sizing and *gasp* started offering healthier alternatives at their restuarants. Seems like the system works.

Except now they characterize people as crackpots to make us complacent when they shut down an avenue for people to defend themselves against corporations. And you all fell for it.

Many working class people are fat because they are too stupid and undisiplined to control thier eating habits, or because they feel they have no proper future in life and have given up trying to eat healthly.

And some NS members are stupidly quick to make sweeping statements about working class people.

As opposed to the fact that there aren't many supermarkets in the ghetto, fast food and prepackaged meals are cheap, and people who have to work two jobs for a living don't have time to cook healthy meals?

What about them fat-ass white collar desk jockeys who sit around all day playing push-mouse and sucking down the cola while the blue collar shmucks are doing athletic things like swinging hammers and installing drywall.

More than salads, and everyone except draught torn places have water...kinda not the point...

and no, Happy Meals-which are for kids-did not come with pedometers. Those are new.

Unfortunately, their salads (excluding the recent Premium Salads) are fatty too. Hard to believe, but true.

But for the cases of people who sue because food made them fat, that's so amazingly weak. Perhaps the fast food companies lured kids in with kids' meals. But if that's the reason you're now fat, that's the result of bad parenting and/or your lack of self-control.

Everyone knows how bad this stuff is for you. If you're able to think for yourself you're also able to fight against any ingrained urges to eat it.

But in this case they were crackpots. The Judge threw the case out of court, and told the claimants if they tried it again he'd have them fined for contempt.

In cases such as the tobacco industry the case was very different. The tobacco companies supressed information regarding the harmful effects of tobacco smoke as this would adversely affect profit (duh!). They were forced to pay compensation because they had done something bad.

It is unreasonable to claim that McDonalds are responsible for decieving these people into believing that the food was good for them. McDonalds clearly publish the nutritional value of all their products (at least they do here in Europe) so that you know exacly what you are getting.

If I tried to live on only raspberries for the next ten years I don't think I'd be very healthy. Maybe not obese, but far from healthy. That doesn't mean I can sue rasberry farmers for encouraging me to eat raspberries!
