So, My question for my fellow new englanders is, John Kerry, or the Red Sox.
even though no logical connection can be made between the too, the proximity makes it hard not to want to draw a line. Anyway which one was more important to you.

for me it's about even, the Sox are what got me through the election :)
obviously this dosn't affect everyone in the region equaly, but i think it applies to a majority...

You do realize that the Sox are now just another baseball team. There's nothing special about them anymore without the curse.

Here's a question: Where does New York fall in relation to New England? I mean, Connecticut is a no-brainer, but does the CT-NY border mark the end of New England? On the one hand, I've heard NY referred to as a "middle colony," but on the other, they name a ballclub "the Yankees."

Not that it really affects me, having been born in Mass General, but it kind of clouds the Red Sox aspect of this poll.

How about those of us who don't like Mass? You're making us chose the lesser from one evil! :(

I do... in fact i wrote a paper on it at 1:00 am after the Series ended, i had to write something about Culture Shock, and that was all i could think off

Sorry man... like I said it dosn't apply to every one. Though i must say with a few exceptions i generaly view massachusets as a nusince in the way of getting to the rest of the southern frontier....

Heh. Anything below the NH border is the south. They try to fool you with their "hey! we're part of the north east too!" but they're lying.

What about Winchendon? Those bastards never have school, and they're right up by New Hampshire.

Hahaha, oh man, Winchendon. Have you ever been there? Talk about a sketchy town when the kids are all hanging out in front of the Clark Memorial at night!

(PS- Can you tell I live right around there? I'm not willing to count Winchendon as part of the north! I mean, I had to swim through the hairballs at the aforementioned Clark pool- I'm traumatized.)

I'm not from New England at all; does it matter if I voted or not? Because I did, and I voted Kerry.

The Sox winning the series was the most importaint. Although, I can't complain about the electoral sweep we Republicans got either.

Haha, if I say that to anyone up here they laugh at me as NH is south to them.
Silly Canada.

I am offended that this is even close. The Red Sox should be blowing Kerry away.

Fairfield County is another piece of New York.

I know of very, very few Boston fans here. Further, I got used to dirty looks from folks in other parts of the state (especially in Tolland) when I say where I live. 203 is not 860! :D

The Dutch essentially traded it for a small island in what is now Indonesia which had nutmeg trees. Nutmeg was thought to prevent the plague and they sold at such a high price in Europe that a pocketful could make you and your family rich for ever. The English figured they would lose the island eventually anyway but New York they could keep forever.

We're also the Constitution State.

Yes, we should. But 203 gets screwed by Hartford all the time. We pay the lion's share of taxes, but get the least road improvements.

And don't *even* get me started on where all that casino money is going...
