Do you beleive space aliens have visited or still do visit earth? Why do you or don't you beleive?

Negative; I doubt they'd have the technology to visit us yet. Though it could be that they're so advanced that we'd never know...but that's a waste of time to go into.

There was a time, when i realy, realy did belive they had.
but now, in addition to the technological dificulty... it seems unlikely they would WANT to visit us, even if it were possible.

I think that we all come from an alien project that was titled, Nebulons of Anamated Herpes aka N.O.A.H.

Its found right there in the bible. It talks about a great flood and how the earth was destroyed and that he had to take 2 of everything and he had this small vessel to do it in.

Now, if you take a dna sample of every animal, make it male and female, and then take off into a spaceship, you need a crew, and he had one, his children and their wives.

So this team of scientists took us from the first earth, and moved us to the second earth, and set up the cloneing, and then they started it all over

Thats why the bible and science conflict, cause we didn't start here, so the plantet is older. after all the stars were done before the earth was.

Was this, by chance, inspired by my question? As for if they have, not sure, althought I do believe they exist.

Yes it was. I thought your question would make a good thread.

Interesting theory, and some people have postulated that Mars was this former planet, before it was devestated beyond all hope of recovery in the cataclysmic meteor landings.

Thank you. Much better than the God thread I must say.

If they exist, then probably. There can't be too many life-bearing planets out there, and even fewer with civilized life. So I think they'd find us at least interesting enough to come down and take a look.

I have tons of those theories. Though not all of them are as well accepted. like my one about muslims being the underlings for the AntiChrist, and such....oh well, I'm bound to get one good one before I'm done. lol My goal is to make people think and see things from many different points of view.

And when they do, we'll roll them up in a carpet and throw 'em off a bridge.

Songs of Distant Earth by Aruthur C. Clark uses basicly the same concept, only for earth to escape the inevetlbe desturction of... earth

After reading this thread I have made up my mind. If the aliens come to reclaim us, I say we revolt and nuke the bastards. If not them, then us, that way they lose, and we ummm win?

Space Aliens, opposite of Earth Aliens?

I recall an outer limits or twilight zone (the newer color versions, not the original series) that had aliens returning to earth to see how their creations were faring. They threatened to end the project (destroy the human race) because we had "a small talent for war". So humans quickly settled their differences and ended violent conflict only to discover that the aliens had wanted to breed us as a warrior race and they actually wanted us to have a great talent for war.

Earth aliens come from Mexico and Central America.

wait a minute, my own words spun a new theory

That who, Christ is coming again. Christ was a scout sent by Generals of Destruction aka G.o.D. His mission was to find the missing N.O.A.H. project. They artifically impregnated Mary, and thus he was born, but with advanced knowledge because of genetacally altered dna cloning.

When the people found out, they tried to get him. Though he led a revolt and when they did "kill him" he merely used it as a ruse to regenerate, and leave before they had a chance to find out. And he left the Holy Ghost aka a spy network, to keep an eye on us until he comes back with "all the saints" behind him and he strikes down all that oppose him and take us all to the "new Earth" or the one that they picked out instead of this one.

I've always thought it was more likely that the 'aliens' are from Earth, or perhaps another Solar satellite - just not 'our' Earth.

It's an awfully damn long haul from anywhere to this wet little oasis, unless you're from a parallel universe, and either already live here, or near enough to here that a trip in a vehicle of some sort would be plausible.

What would be most telling would be if we could run DNA tests on some of these 'aliens' and see to what extent they match up with something Terrestrial.

These days, though, I'm tending more towards unexplained natural phenomena. Anybody see that video footage (there were clips from two sites, one in New Jersey, another in Siberia) with unexplained blobs of light coming flying up out of the ground over areas known for large deposits of nickel/iron?

Actually it's a pretty well documented phenomenon here in NJ. We have a shitload of Iron in our soil, and these lights have been observed frequently. In one area they are refered to as the "hookerman" lights and are rumored to be the ghost of a guy who died on the railroad.

the way i think of it, if there ever were space aliens that could move around faster than light they would have gone around terraforming planets and building technology, so that accumulating over billions of years you'd get more life-supporting planets than you'd naturally suspect and transport technology being more likely to be discovered by archaeologists than phycisists...

oh yeah no alien race could POSSIBLY be more technologically advanced than us :rolleyes:

One of my friends once theorized that all life on earth is descended from microbes in rancid soup that aliens brought here for a picnic. I thinks that’s silly but strangely I find the idea intriguing

Drunk, I've seen similar blobs of light in footage from Siberia. They look somewhat like the balls of light I've also seen footage of in farm fields in England - looking a lot like the mythical 'Will O' The Wisp'. I've also seen footage from one of the Shuttle missions that...well, it looks like the same damn blobs of light flying up out of the Earth's atmosphere.

I don't think they're aliens, really - just some sort of naturally occurring...uh...energy of some sort. I don't have a word for it. Is there some sort of intelligence behind it? Doubtful, but I'll keep an open mind. For now, anyway.

Don't all those depictions of 'greys' look like hyper-evolved mammals or marsupials to you? I look at 'em, and I see Earthly hominids (though that's probably not the way to describe 'em) of some sort. Not dudes all the way from Tau Ceti...

I didn't say that. What I meant was that it's a waste of time to speculate; if they are, they are, and we can't do anything about it.

Ever heard of the Drake Equation?

N = N* fp ne fl fi fc fL

N* represents the number of stars in the Milky Way Galaxy
Question: How many stars are in the Milky Way Galaxy?
Answer: Current estimates are 400 billion.

fp is the fraction of stars that have planets around them
Question: What percentage of stars have planetary systems?
Answer: Current estimates range from 20% to 60%.

ne is the number of planets per star that are capable of sustaining life
Question: For each star that does have a planetary system, how many planets are capable of sustaining life?
Answer: Current estimates range from 1 to 5.

fl is the fraction of planets in ne where life evolves
Question: On what percentage of the planets that are capable of sustaining life does life actually evolve?
Answer: Current estimates range from 100% (where life can evolve it will) down to close to 0%.

fi is the fraction of fl where intelligent life evolves
Question: On the planets where life does evolve, what percentage evolves intelligent life?
Answer: Estimates range from 100% (intelligence is such a survival advantage that it will certainly evolve) down to near 0%.

fc is the fraction of fi that communicate
Question: What percentage of intelligent races have the means and the desire to communicate?
Answer: 10% to 20%

fL is fraction of the planet's life during which the communicating civilizations live
Question: For each civilization that does communicate, for what fraction of the planet's life does the civilization survive?
Answer: This is the toughest of the questions. If we take Earth as an example, the expected lifetime of our Sun and the Earth is roughly 10 billion years. So far we've been communicating with radio waves for less than 100 years. How long will our civilization survive? Will we destroy ourselves in a few years like some predict or will we overcome our problems and survive for millennia? If we were destroyed tomorrow the answer to this question would be 1/100,000,000th. If we survive for 10,000 years the answer will be 1/1,000,000th.

When all of these variables are multiplied together when come up with:

N, the number of communicating civilizations in the galaxy.

If we take middle values for all,

N* = 400 billion
fp = 40%
ne = 3
fl = 20%
fi = 30%
fc = 15%
fL = 10,000 years

We get

N = the number of communicating civilizations in the galaxy = 5760
