It's morning again and you make your way, in your usual state of wakeful bewilderment, out the door. What're you MOST likely to forget on your way out?

If it ain't listed in the poll, let everybody know in the thread.

Where're my pants?

I am most likely to forget either my mind or my keys. This is bad because I live on campus housing where the doors are all locked and I can't can't get back in with out them. I also seem to forget my smile and optimism not infrequelnty(sp?).

Keys.. Too easily misplaced and smallish.
Also wallet sometimes but not as often as the keys.

I constantly forget my purse, which contains all my identification, money, credit cards etc...

I actually forgot it today when I was heading out with a friend to see a movie. I ran out the door and into the freezing rain, and then half way there remembered my purse was still inside. Grrrrrr.....

I am missing 'other...'
I forget things all the time. For example: someone can ask me to go to the garage to get something, then i go through the kitchen and see a few bottles of water. I drink some water, then wonder what i was doing and just return to the living room.

But I have no problems with the following:
-house/car keys: They are in my wallet
-briefcase/purse/backpack: When i enter the house, i always drop them next to the door so that i can find them when i need them and so that i don't forget them.
-packed lunch/thermos: I either have lunch in some place or buy it during the day.
-laptop computer: Stays at home, unless for presentations. In that case i put my laptop next to the door a day before the presentation.
-cel phone: It's in the pocket of my pants.
-cigarettes/lighter: I don't smoke
-wallet/I.D.: It's in the other pocket of my pants
-book/newspaper/magazine: I buy newspapers/magazines when i am out. Books i ceep in the pocket of my vest
-report/homework: I've learned my lesson and they simply go in the backpack right after completion.
-that farewell kiss...: don't be that sentimental.

That is why i say: others...
I usually have problems with my clothing. I wear my shirt inside out or backwards. Or my sweater. Sometimes even my pants. That is what i often forget, to wear them correctly.

Oddly enough I also forget to put on my shoes, I've walked into blizzards barefoot before. I also forget to take off my socks when I take a shower.

I remember the things I absolutely need or just want to have available in any case: keys, wallet, phone, xeroxes, pen and paper, bubble gum, newspapers and such. It's harder to forget something you consider every day. On the other hand, I tend to forget things that are *absolutely* needed only on specific days, such as calculators and table books needed for exams. Fortunately I live on the campus, so they're just a quick jog away. It's not about how badly needed it is, but how often you have to think of it.

I've forgotten a lot of those, before. I've also taken things with me by accident - for example the other day I took my empty coffee mug half way down the street before realising it was still in my hand.

Oh, good, it isn't just me with the empty coffee mugs :) Although I feel uncomfortable without a coffee mug in my hand.

I haven't forgotten or lost my keys in the past 10 years because they're chained to my pants, and I usually notice when I'm missing my pants...

Where I work, you need a keycard to get through the door. At least once a month, sometimes once a week, I will forget to bring this keycard. You're not allowed to let other people in if they don't have this keycard, even if you work with them in the same department, so I have to drive all the way back home and get it before I can even get into my office. Which is fun.

NOT.

I usually forget my hat. and i notice when i'm on my bike and it's just too cold. but since i'm usually very late, too, i don't have time to go back to get it. so my ears are constantly frozen. not fun.

Mostly Sunglasses and car-keys.

However I have my house-keys(Attached to my swiss knife) that I always keep together with my wallet and handphone.

It's everything else that I forget.

A lot of times I am running late for work, and I forget to grab my lunch. I work about 40 minutes away from where I live, so most of the time I say screw it and just go to work. I did have one experience where I was running late, so I grabbed my shirt, socks, shoes, etc. Then before I walked out the door, I realized I forgot to grab my lunch. I put everything down, grabbed my lunch, picked everything up again, and left. While getting dressed in the car at red lights, I realized I forgot my shoes. I was almost to work, and spend a lot of my time outdoors. I had to run to the WalMart and buy a new pair of shoes, then explain to my boss why I was so late. He still gives me shit about it.
