I was sitting here, and my vision blanked out and everything was white for about three seconds.

Might it possibly have anything to do with my migraines or something? I've had visual distortion with migraines, but no vision ceasing before.

Is ceasing a word?
Ceasure?
Ceaseyness?
I dunno.

It's a whiteout I think. I've gotten them. Usually a pretty bad headache followed, but I don't know what they are what causes em.

It was pretty wierd. I just sat there for a sec and thought to myself "Oh shit. I didn't take any drugs while I wasn't looking, did I?"

You know what's kinda cool? When you lay down for too long and you stand up and you vision narrows into a tunnel, and sometimes you see purple flashy things.

Use care, this might show evidence of bad things in your brain (like a tumor) but more likely it means nothing. But if I were you I would get it checked if it happens more.

That is when you ascend too rapidly, and the blood level in your brain temporarily lowers slightly. I'm pretty sure that the light-headedness brought about by lowered oxygenation of the brain is why people use asphyxiation as a means of pleasure. Auto-erotic asphyxiation is the first to come to mind. And, oddly enough for me, I always see little colours across my vision. It actually kind of is more like static on the TV. Doctors have just glossed over that when I've mentioned it to them...

I see funny swirly things in my vision all the time. The doctors put it off to something in my eye, but I say it couldn't be since they change color and shape sometimes.

There was a really cool one once that looked like a Wraith from Starcraft. For like three days after it appeared I kept spacing out and watching ti zip around my field of vision randomly.

I have a physical in two days anyway, so I'll ask about it to make sure I don't have some hideous rare and excruciatingly painful disease or something.

Have you read Blindness by Jose Saramago? It won't help you, in fact it will make your worries worse. Don't know why I brought it up, now that I think about it....

What's it about?
An outbreak of contegious(sp) white-blindness and what becomes of the victims of it after they are quarenteened(sp)

can't spell anything today...

It's fiction. I should point that out.

A whiteout is what happens to pilots in snow conditions or people who are driveing in bad snow storms, it's caused by the nature.
People just don't get whiteouts for no reason not even with migrains.

I think you're referring to snow-blindness...though if you're not I'd like to know what it is you're referring to.

I used to g et dizzy spells accompanied by black out, blurry vision and what-not. After my CT scan showed up some "inconsistencies" and I went to see a neurologist, I lied so that it was diagnosed as "low blood pressure"...
