Who has the best (and worst) sports uniforms?

Which sports teams have the best looking uniforms? The classic N.Y. Yankees pinstripes? The simplicity of the Dallas Cowboys’ star? The fire engine red of the Detroit Red Wings? The retro looking Indiana Pacers? The intimidating Oakland Raiders?

Which team takes the field, court, pitch, or ice looking the coolest?

And on the flip side which team has the most embarrassing uniforms? Years ago this would have been hands down the Tampa Bay Bucs, but since they changed colors they look pretty good. Who is it today? The mustard yellow Nashville Predators? The University of Michigan helmets? The funky University of Oregon Ducks? The Houston Rockets (who seem to change their design every few years, but still can’t get it right)? The Portland Trailblazers? Premier League Football in England has to get a thumbs down for turning their unis into billboards.

Both the Steelers and Packers have terrific looking home uniforms and crappy looking away unis.

And what is with those monocromatic Seattle Seahawks uniforms?

I love the old school hockey jerseys, whether its the Leafs, Canadiens, Black Hawks, Wings etc.

Tampa Bay Bucaneers have a good uniform now. Love the Black Hawks uniform, always will.

Some of the worst uniforms I have ever seen:

The old Denver Nuggets uniform
The newest Detroit Pistons uniform
The old LA Kings uniform (purple)

Worst today .. Nashville Predators. Also the Boston Bruins alternate jersey where instead of the "B" they have a dumb looking bear.

Undecided on the old Vancouver Canucks jersey, where it was yellow, black and red, and had a giant V down the middle. They were ugly I suppose, but sort of cool at the same time.

I'm gonna have to go with the Boston Bruins away jersey, as best, it's just classic.

Maine Marriners (old AHL team) dosn't look all that great (odd color scheme and an iffy logo), though i'd still like to have one :)

I absolutely despise and hate the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins, but I have to admit that both teams have terrific uniforms.

On the other hand I love my Buffalo Bills, but the crappy new uniforms they've adopted look like they came from Arena Football.

I also didn't care for the Sabres switch from gold and blue crossed sabres and running buffalo to the black and red buffalo head, but it has grown on me.

It's pretty cool that all the Pittsburgh teams (Pirates, Steelers, Penguins) have the same yellow and black colors.

Good: The Philly eagles, the Raiders, and the old black, blue, and "bronze" Utah Jazz uniforms (they didn't use them very often, they were auxilary away jersies)

Bad: Denver broncos, USC Trojanbs (boring), and anything priamarily oarnge

Does anybody remember like five years ago, MLB had a "Future Day" promo? A bunch of the more gullible teams agreed to adopt new names and wear special tinfoil uniforms for one night. The only reason I remember this is because the Pittsburgh Space Pirates put the beatdown on the Mercury Mets, ending a six-game streak and ultimately causing the Mets to finish yet another season trailing Atlanta and falling to them in the Division Series.

Also, because when they kicked on the floodlights, those tinfoil uniforms were the blinding essence of ugly itself.

Denver Broncos uniforms have always been great; both the older style and the one they currently use look fantastic in my eyes.

I don't know if they look good or bad, but minor league baseball has some of the funkiest team names:

Lansing Lugnuts

Montgomery Biscuits

Toledo Mud Hens

Batavia Muckdogs

Albuquerque Isotopes

Asheville Tourists

Cedar Rapids Kernels (as in corn kernels)

Minor league teams? My fave is the "Pennsylvania Road Warriors," so-called because they have yet to raise the funds for a stadium and thus must operate out of a bus. Alas, the Road Warriors will never know the sweetness that is the walk-off homerun.

See also, Capitol City Bombers. DHS will be having words with y'all.

Right, the Canadian Football League's experiment in U.S. football.

Trivia question: What is the only city to win three different football championships with three different franchises?

Baltimore with the Colts ('58, '59, '68 NFL Championships, '70 Super Bowl V), Ravens ('00 NFL Super Bowl XXXV), and the Stallions ('95 CFL Grey Cup).

No, I'm not from Baltimore, nor a fan of any of those teams, but there has to be a situation where you can use that info as a bar bet to win a drink.

Here is another trivia question I do not know the answer to. Which football team has had the most cities (i.e., the Rams started in Cleveland, moved to L.A., later Anaheim, now St. Louis)?
