I like Bill O'Reilly
I just discovered today I have Fox News in my cable tv package (I normally stick to around five channels out of the 70 odd channels I have). Anway, "The O'reilly Factor" was on and I've got to say. I aggree with him, and even when I don't he makes some good points.
I was told this guy is some kind of ignorant right-wing nut, but I have to disagree. This is just my opinion after seeing just one show, but so far so good.
The only complaint I could have is that he will intentionally stir controversy to obtain rating... but he admits that himself so it's funny instead of that much of an issue.
Besides, as a liberal I believe if a person believes in what they're saying then they're alright in my books.
Bill O'Reilly, you have my support. *nods*

I'm glad you like the O'Reilly Factor! It is an interesting show and your right. He does stir up alot of controversy but he does it to both sides and its fun watching their responses. I hope you continue to watch it.
BTW: I'm watching it now!

Even though I like O'Reilly the best thing about the post, I think, is that you actually gave him a shot. Even if you had said you hated him it would have been better than people who say "Yeah I saw a clip of him on the internet and it was so funny it was 30 seconds I'm basing everything off that."

i so glad that you have finally stopped wasting your cable package
no sense paying for 70 channels when you only watch 5
maybe you should start looking around at the other channels too, youll find some fun shopping channels, a bunch of religious stations, and at least 2 sports channels
happy surfing!

From what I've seen of O'Reilly, he doesn't seem too bad. He has a conservative tilt, certainly, be he seems to genuinely try to give each side its fair say. However, I must've seen his good side, because apparently he cuts off people's mics and is just a bully sometimes. Not to mention that he has all of those sexual harassment issues to work out... But I do not hold too poor an opinion of him. I don't watch the O'Reilly Factor much, but I really don't dislike it when I do, to be honest. And I think that means something coming from a pinko-environmentalist.

Anyway, i think i can respect the guy a little for bothering to see Moore's movie AND inviting him on the show ....
however, i can't respect the guy much for threatening to beat up people over their views (fact-based or otherwise) or for always acting like a blown-up braggart bully ... shut up, indeed.

I don't know where people get that he is 'mega biased' from. Biased? Slightly. However, he has some very moderate points and open-mindedness on a lot of issues. It's just loud-mouthed propaganda machines like Michael Moore that try to pin negativity where it isn't due.

To be fair, Clinton was under attack saying that his sexual morals mattered for him running the government. There was no sexual harassment either, it was consentual for both parties. O'Reilly is the host of a TV show and sexually harassed a woman. Different circumstances in my opinion. There is no danger of O'Reilly being impeached, though he might get fired if he becomes too unpopular.

I'd have to say that o'riely generaly isn't that bad, the E-mails from his viewers freqently are though... (I watch his show some times, ususaly not for very long)
Sean Hannity is much worse, espcialy if you've ever herad his radio show
the one that realy annoys me though is Joe Scarborough on MSNBC, he seems all reasonable like until you actualy listen to what he's saying... and one of his favorite guest hosts is Pat Buchanan. sure those views have the right to be aired... but it should be presented as what it is, a biased account (after all everyone has a Bias). The only purely Liberal outlet i've seen, Air America, makes no pretenses about being unbiased, why can't the right wing sources?
I happen to hate Bill O'Reilly, very, very much. Now, you might be thinking this guy is just another presumptutious asshole who knows everything about Bill O'Reilly from a "30 second clip"
Well, I've watched his show for like 2-3 years, and I actually read in entirety one of his books. The man is a complete asshole.
I honestly think he tries to take the majority of the American People's stance on everything. The man doesn't really think much at all. And he's a bad liar, please read Lies, and the Lying lairs that tell them by Al Franken, or just the chapter in there about ol' bill. Now, you could if you weren't one of those assholes who blacklists anyone Bill or Fox News tells them to, and if you're an open minded person.
Here's on example of his idiocy: He believes in the death penalty only for terrorists. If you need me to explain why that's retarded...fine, I'll do it, but I honestly hope you don't need me to.

Personally, Mr. O'Reilly arouses a great anger in me. It's not his message, for I sometimes agree with him, but the way in which he delivers it. Bill O'Reilly doesn't debate, he either yells or writes off the others' point as inane and/or uneducated. Mr. O'Reilly's main problem is that he is, in fact, a jerk and that overshadows any valid points he might have.

The Daily Show is not a news organisation. As Jon Stewart said at Crossfire, he is not there to report. The show exists to provide people with entertainment, not information. It is rather like the editorial sections of newpapers. Sure, they have information and you can learn from them, but that is certainly not what their purpose is. There are no claims that the show is unbiased, even though it does a pretty good job at treating everyone fairly in my opinion, but the bigger picture is that it really doesn't matter whether it's biased or not, because it's not meant to be unbiased.
I don't like the way O'Reilly wags his index finger in the air as he disgorges sanctimonious, holier-than-thou diatribes. Reminds me too much of the videos of Iranian Mullahs giving speeches. Listening to a guy who sexually harrasses his coworkers try to lecture me on morality is too much for me to stomach.
Sanctimony is way way more obnoxious than self-righteousness. At least smug people don't try to force feed you.

Anyone find it funny how O'Reilly doesn't let people finish their sentence when they challenge his views or actually make a good point that might contradict his? Or how he insults them and ridicules them instead of making a valid argument? When I see his show it literally just makes me angry, yet it actually amuses me how many people listen and agree with such an arrogant jerk. Why would you ever want to identify with such a grumpy old man? He leans very conservative, yea no kidding. But he leans even stronger towards complete ASSHOLE. I can see why only FOX would give him a job. Every other news source would probably loose a majority of their viewer base. However, O'Reilly and FOX go hand in hand in terms of their biased conservative views.
Oh yeah and anyone who thinks Fox News is there to report instead of entertain should try a little experiment I cooked up:
1. Flip the channel to an ESPN recap (BOOYEAH!)
2. Listen for a while; let the mannerisms seep in
3. Flip to Fox News
4. Observe and note which mannerisms are being duplicated by the 'anchor'
5. Flip back to ESPN
6. Flip to Fox NEws
7. Keeping flipping between the two until it finally sinks in that FOX NEWS USES THE SAME ENTERTAINMENT METHODS AS ESPN
I'm not shitting you, watching Fox News is almost tantamount to watching a sports entertainment channel. Check out that artillery round going off...BOOYEAH!! Bulls and Bears...BO! Shock and Awe, Tony, Shock and Awe. Back to you...
