"Abu Mus'ab al-Zarqawi, whom the US occupation authorities declared to be the "target number one" in Iraq, has been arrested in the city of Baakuba, the Emirate newspaper al-Bayane reported on Tuesday referring to Kurdish sources. Al-Zarqawi, leader of the terrorist group Al-Tawhid Wa'al-Jihad, was recently appointed the director of the Al-Qaeda organisation in Iraq."

Can't wait to see him swinging at the end of a rope.

Wonderfull news! I hope they lock him up in solitary confinement for decades and then exhibit him after he goes crazy as an example to his kind.

Isn't it ironic that there were no terrorists in Iraq before, and now there's thousands. I'm literally laughing out loud as I type this.

The funny part about that is you are wrong. but keep laughing. Laughter is good medicine to a skewed world view.

Even though Saddam Hussein did support terrorist groups of various sorts. (admittedly, not Al Qaeda, but terrorist groups encompass far more than Al Qaeda.)

There weren't many terrorists in Iraq prior to the war. Saddam wouldn't tolerate them. They were a threat to his wealth and power.

Buzzzzz, wrong answer. There were training camps (mostly PLO and Hamas I believe) inside Iraq. He might have been oppressive towards terrorist aimed at him but he was buddy buddy with the Palestenians. That dead snake, Arafat, even supported him during the invasion of Kuwait

So what? Terrorists have been known to operate in the US too. Doesn't mean we suport Al Queda.

Also, when your the most hated muslim in the middle east its a good idea to seek out friends. sadly the most powerful people there seem to be terrorist leaders who loath the USA. A fine scenario we helped make for ourselves there.

I hope it turns out to be true. Other news sources seem to be quiet on this though. I await the "BREAKING NEWS" alert. It would be incredible news so I'm surprised I haven't seen it yet on CNN.

Has Fox News said anything yet?

UPDATE //
Tue Jan 04 2005 11:18:47 ET

U.S. military and intelligence sources are denying print and broadcast reports that terrorist Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi has been arrested in Iraq, MSNBC reported Tuesday.

MSNBC said senior U.S. military and intelligence sources told it the reports are not true. A newspaper in the United Arab Emirates, al-Bayane, reported in its Tuesday edition that the Jordanian-born terrorist had been arrested in Baqouba, Iraq. Iraqi Kurdistan radio also reported the arrest of al-Zarqawi.

The U.S. military in December said al-Zarqawi likely is in the Baghdad area.

Well, i will keep my hopes up that the scumbag is in custody.

Just be glad I'm not the one who captured him. All I wanted for Christmas was fifteen minutes alone in a locked room with this murdering, evil asshole; just fifteen minutes.

Naw, give him 15 minutes with Sapphire, a jailhouse homosexual I met when I did my time. (No I didn't participate in any jailhouse sex)

Better not. Considering the amount of time Zarqawi has spent in jail, and the (ahem) surprising light in which some extremist muslims like him see homosexuality, he might enjoy it too much. ;)

Exactly, and the one terror group they can prove that was in Iraq pre-invasion was based in the same land as the Kurds.. you got it, the no fly zone, protected by the Americans to which Saddam had NO control over!, Go figure!
