It's about how we are being lied to with pseudoscience and media scare tactics. A short list of these fear-mongering lies scrolls across the bottom of the screen during the commercial. Some are legitimate, like high voltage power lines. These have never in a reliable study been found to cause health problems. One of the items that scrolled across the screen was Global Warming. I haven't looked at the evidence one way or another. Anyone got some good links about the evidence for and against global warming?

I've no links, but I do remember reading a climatologist's opinion of the film "The Day after Tomorrow". He said that the film was entirely unrealistic and very silly, which was something of a relief, and then he said "It would be MUCH worse than that. You've got people walking in the cold! That's ridiculous, they'd be stone dead. And it's only hit the northern hemisphere? No chance."

Seen the film? It's a best-chance scenario

Michael Crichton said that? I thought he was more intelligent than that...granted, he does say a lot of fanciful things, but I never thought I'd hear him sayign that global warming is pseudoscience...

There's a reason Crichton stuck to writing science fiction in the past...he apparently sucks hard when it comes to science fact.
