I got a hand written letter from Bush!!!! He sent me a letter thanking me for my contributions to his campaign in South Carolina!! I would scan it, but my damn scanner is messed up! :(

It says:
Dec. 21, 2004

Dear Joseph,

Thank you for your great help on my campaign in South Carolina. Your state played a critical role in this election, and the Vice President and I were fortunate to have your help in campaiging in South Carolina.
I am honored by the trust of my fellow citizens, confident in our purpose, and looking forward to continuing to lead this nation for four more years.
Laura joins me in thanking you for your steadfast supprt and in wishing you and your family a wonderful Holiday.

pretty standard text, but nice, if you support George Bush. I don't like his politics at all

Hmmm, yeah, critical, if that state went to Kerry it would have made NO difference, unless he was talking about the 2000 election...

Well I joined a pro-bush site to help his campaign. I think it was www.gwbush.org or something like that. I did stuff on the website like order campaign signs and stuff.

Oh dear God...you're a completely lost soul, trapped in the nightmare that is the Bush supporters. I pity you, you poor fool, so wrapped up by the blatent lies of Bush and his evil cronies...there's no hope for you...poor fool. Let us all have a moment of silence for this person lost to Bush. *bows head*

Well that's pretty cool. Not many people, let alone Presidents, would send hand written letters to thank a low level campaigner. Obviously I am against Bush's Presidency (see sig), but that's very cool of him nonetheless.

If you get a chance to scan it, do so. I'm curious to what his handwriting looks like.

Yep. After all, he also sent out over a million Christmas cards this year which, if we only assumed that he hand-signed at 2 seconds a pop and assumed he worked 18 hours a day at it (and we all have heard that he goes to bed early), would have taken over 30 days of non-stop effort to complete.

And somehow, I can't picture him going that long without golf....

Well the signature probably is machine generated as well, like Rumsfeld's letters to the families of the war dead. If they won't be bothered to sign that letter, then there's a possiblity that Bush didn't sign a personal thank you for buying a bumper sticker from his web site. :D

Ok, first of all, I still am in school. I graduate High school in 06, and I'm going straight to college then the Air Force. Second, please explain your reason for your calling me an idiot.

Well, let's see. Right off the bat, you support the worst President in existence; that right there says something. Second, you support practically everything he does, which also shows that you're an idiot, in my mind. Third, you found reading a machine generated letter difficult to read. Fourth, you are no doubted completely uneducated regarding the political spectrum. Need I go on?

Actually, I can't picture him spending all his time in the White House doing that or writing thankyou notes without the media attacking him. After all, the president should have better things to do with soldiers in Iraq, disasters in Asia, the major deficiencies at home etc. So the letter probably - no: hopefully- was completely machine generated. It is still a nice gesture.

My family got a happy new year card signed by all the Liberal Democrat city councellors. Of course, closer inspection showed that the signatures were printed on using an extremely high resolution laser printer.

hey, i'll be the first to admit that i'm no big fan of bush either. but calling people idiots when you have no idea why they support a politician is judging before you have enough info. i don't really get why anyone would want bush as president, but i know that's from my own personal viewpoint. i can accept the fact that other people may be educated about the issues and still might see things differently than i do, because they have different life experiences and a different background. and anyway, calling him an idiot isn't going to change his mind about politics or even make it look like your point of view deserves a chance. someone did the same thing to me for supporting kerry and it made me a little angry, to say the least.

and to grays hill... that's pretty nifty, even if (obviously lol) i don't like bush. at least you actually take the time to get involved with politics.

Dude, my dad got one as well, I hate to be pessimistic, but it's just Bush handwriting font. If you look on the bottom it says that it was "not printed with taxpayer money." So, yeah, I hate to be so pessimistic.

This reminds me of the scandal about Rumsfeld sending condolence letters to families of slain soldiers...

and here is an example of how it could be done.

Still neat, though, if he's the candidate you support.

If it doesn't resemble my three year old brother's, chances are he didn't write it. In any event, he couldn't have possibly known all those words and spelled them correctly. He had help, or someone else wrote it, and he signed, if even that.

Well, being that he won re-election, and he got more popular vote than ANY other president in history, I would say that he isnt the worst president in existence. My political beliefs in no way make me an idiot also. The letter was hard to read, the handwriting was somewhat sloppy. An f looked like an l, the man doesnt cross his f's. I am not "completely uneducated" when it comes to politics, I took AND PASSED an Honors government and economics class.
