Yep, New Turkish Lira = 1,000,000 Turkish Lira

This is not a new trick. It's normally done when hyperinflation devalues your current currency to the point it is worthless.

Basically, yes. :p
Means, we can't be millionaires in Turkey anymore.

Inflation in Turkey is quite humourous, I went one year and got 700,000 T-lira to my GBP, the next year I got 1,050,000 to the GBP.
Although the turkish people I spoke to said they were used to it. You will see, as in a lot of countries with high inflation, a lot of semi built properties as people put they money into their future before it devalues.

I have a Turkish Lira, it must be old though (Checked, 1985), because its a 25 Lira coin.
Its made of tin.
Tells you something about a country, eh?

It makes sense really, I wouldn't want to be dealing with 7-digit numbers every time I pop out for a newspaper and a box of cereal.
