I actually didn't know who I was in bed with at first when I woke up this morning - had a massive hangover and didn't recognise the girl lying next to me.

It later turned out to be my girlfriend...she wasn't impressed when I couldn't remember her name ;)
But then, I also couldn't remember anything for the past two weeks until I'd had a nice cup of tea!

I was going to put "I swear to G-d I'll never drink again if you just take away this pain" for the last option, but it didn't fit...

If you drink, I'm sure you've been there.

I'm pretty surpised that over 1 in 4 people don't drink. Maybe it's because I come from an immigrant family... a non-drinking Slav is pretty uncommon.

I'm not saying that drinking is good or bad, I'm just surprised by the statistics so far. That, and that 1 in 5 woke up and didn't know whom they were sleeping next to. ;)

I cant see how that could be true, gettin so drunk u dont no who ur sleeping beside? u would need to have a hell of a lot to drink, i dont drink myself, i dont see the point in spending so much money not to remember it the next day, were is the point in that?

Heh - well, New Years itself is a pretty boring evening - Hannah and I were out in Trafalgar Square - which is all fine and dandy, but the real celebrations didn't start until we got back home ;)

Hangovers are killers - never felt so awfully awful for ages (at least since last New Years - heh).

Kewl. Good luck to you both.

If you don't mind a really good suggestion ... make 100% sure that you guys make enough time in every week just for the two of you to be together with no other distractions. This sounds easy to do right now, but the world really does become "too much with us" the older you get ( especially if/when you have kids! ). I've seen many, many marriages fail on this one issue alone, including my marriage of 33 years! Do yourselves a favor and make this an unbreakable rule ... at least 8 hours each week together with no other distractions, longer if you can actually do it. Knowing what I know now, I would have quit a job rather than break this rule! That's how important it is.

Just thought you might like to know. :)

Thank you :) We always try to make time with each other as often as we can, whether it's a quiet meal out somewhere, catching a film at the cinema, playing tennis, or just relaxing at home together. The nicest feeling in the world though is curling up on the sofa with your partner in your arms...girls seem made to just fit there - it's fantastic.

Yes it is, and you should make hurculean efforts to keep that! Do NOT "try" to make time ... DO! I'm talkin' "if I don't show up for our regular date, you'll know I'm DEAD!" type of thing.

I perhaps used the wrong phrasing when I said 'try' - we always spend time together, even if it just in companionable silence reading, or something. We spend as much time as we can together, because we both lead hectic jobs.

New Year's Eve was awesome. Though I stayed up too long. I didn't get to sleep until 6:30 a.m. on January 1. Then I slept for about three hours, until 10 a.m.
I didn't drink much alcohol, but I am sooooo tired. I'd go to bed by now but I still have to call some friends over in the US, so I have to wait until the time difference makes it okay for me to call them.
My English must be crappy, I can hardly concentrate on what I'm doing. It's aweful.
