Does it make you mad when NSrs post something and their proof is a web page that has an obviously biased writer, sometimes even a borderline hack? I’ve noticed this several times and it makes me think less of the people who give biased proofs to their points. Isn’t it a general rule in essay that biased works are automatically invalid?

Yes. So why get worked up about it?

Yes. So why get worked up about it?

Because people are passing slanted facts, and its just not right!

Yes but a fact can only be called a fact when it is undisputed, so that a slant is not required while presenting it.

This is one of the reasons why you never use the internet for important school work, or any research that matters. Anyone can make a website. Your average angry 15 year old can't get a biased book published, though.

But there's no such thing as unbiased information. As soon as someone has a view about something, then there is bias. That's what the word is for, really.

Well when you have 50 different sites for the same "fact", I tend not to believe anyone or anything I read online.

No. Depends on how you use them.

Most if not all of them deliberately post to get attention and publicity. Like Illinois Nazis in Skokie, they thrive on the reactions from people they piss off with their skewered and often revisionist perspectives.

I don't get why so many people try to refute them with logic when the best solution is to ignore their posts and let it die a lonely death.

No. The point of NS is stupid misinformed opions. That's all.

Anyone can toe the party line. That's easy. We can all sit here and share well deserved - yet ignorant - disgust at the opinions of others.

Indeed, we can even feel smug about our own "enlightment."

On the other hand, you never really know your own case until you have studied the other side.
