is anyone seriously dumb enough to beleive in god?

Life Skills Children

I mean seriously, like talk about plot holes. The only real evidence is that the people existed. But other than that, give me a break. God didn't create the world, there is no heaven or hell, and when you die you rot in the ground. get over yourself.

92% of America does.
They are all stupid in your not so humble opinion?
I am sure they would pose the question, as I am right now:
Is anyone blind enough not to believe in God?

They're not stupid; they have faith. Which is to be admired. I for one would be perfectly willing to believe in God--but only if I had proof. That's what makes me agnostic.

It's a matter of opinion. I'm an agnostic and I don't think it can be proved either way. If neither side can definitively prove their point, then they should stop bothering each other, right?

55% say God created the World
82% believe in heaven
78% believe in Hell

You are a person without a "faith" who respects people who do. That is also to be admired.

It's called faith for a reason.

The vast majority of humanity believes in some God or another. Remember, many of the truths we cling to depend upon our point of view.

And, this type of thread has been posted 1,538,936,264,806 times, of course, seeing you're new at this you probably don't realize this yet.

Some might consider this trolling, a very bad thing.

Lets explain trolling to him first.

Life Skills Children, is this a deliberate attempt to provoke an angry reaction from people? If so, you're trolling.

Thank you; it comes from being raised correctly, though said raising has made me a liberal and a Democrat by default, which makes me hated by probably every Bush supporter on these forums. I admire anyone who is able to believe in something that they have no proof for, because I cannot find it within myself to do the same; I must have proof.
It should be noted that my parents are devout Christians and yet they have multiple doctorates in many scientific fields.

Heh, I think Skapadroe may be the one who deserves that dubious award.

Yeah, I think Life Skills Children is a troll. He just posted that and logged off. Although he may have had a different reason for logging off, of course.

And anyways, I don't know many people who beleive in God, but I do know a bunch who believe in God.

Depends what you think God is? Is there an intelligence that created the universe/s? If you think there is, than a God or Gods might exist.

I don't really think any off us are qualified to say.

Wow, I never thought Id say this but some athiest are too stupid for their own good. There is a God and we do not rot in the ground when we die. There are billions of people on this earth that believe in God, so do you claim to be smarter than all of them? If you do, then youve got your head way up your ass and out your mouth.

Is this what is referred to as "flamebait?"

Ever heard of Pascal's wise wager? Put simply: A person should beleive in God. For if he/she/it exists, (which in my opinion God DOES exist), you have faith in him, which I would have to assume the LORD would appreciate. If God, hypothetically did not exist, it would not matter, but at least you had that faith, just in case, right?

Better question to spend your time on, "What is God?"

Anyone with a definitive answer would be WRONG?

Good point. On the issue of rotting in the ground... Yes, our mortal bodies will, right? Either that or be cremated, or decompose in the sea, or be cryogenically frozen, or used in some science experiment, or whatever... Though I find it hard to disprove that living things are powered by some energy, maybe electricity, if you will, energy cannot be killed. Energy cannot die. Energy can be changed though, yes?

I hope that this guy learns, before he gets modbombed.

Anyway, I'm with PICarDMPCia on this. I'm an atheist, but I do understand the lure of believing in a higher power, and believe that God and religion do have a positive purpose in our society. If religions as a whole were more accepting, our world would be a much improved place. That's the main reason that I'm an atheist, and the fact that I need some kind of evidence of a God or Gods.

*sigh* /rant.
