Is European Culture dead?

Think about it, Europe has adopted so many American ideas, such as those pathetic German and French and even Italian rappers, they now use more American brand names than ever, such as Coke, Pepsi, and the ever popular Orangina has been replaced by Fanta. It seems, all European culture is being gobbled up.

The really sad thing is, if Europeans cared they would do something about it. But many dont care.

Now Im not saying American culture is in any way bad. I think its kick-ass!
Its just a little sad that such a fiery culture known as European culture, is shrinking. I mean, The great thing about this world is the differences. Not the similarities.

Once socialism turns culture and diversity into nothing more than history lessons, yeah, it will be.

Same for the US if we are not careful.

That is corporate expansion. If orangina was cultural you would have the same uproar in Europe that there was in the US when coke tried to change its formula.

Yes if Socialism rules Europe their culture will just go down the drain. You dont believe me? Do some research on Socialism/Communism.

I dont think thats true, because Coke wasnt changing to another countries formula, just another companys formula. That was a bad idea though. I like the original recipe of Coke, glad they changed back, even though I prefer Pepsi.

yeah seems that way doesn't it.
then again on a visit to Paris recently it seemed like the american influence was simply sitting ontop of the already prominent and distinct french culture, and not replacing it. in my eyes, in the UK however, our culture is being overwritten.

Invasion? No, I don't think so. It's called Globalization-which is a good thing. Sure, preserving culture is great, but when times change so does the way of lief and it's something eventually everyone will have to follow.

The French have produced some great films lately: Amelie for example.

Europe is still producing good novelists like Camillerri and Kurkov.

The British are still producing great bands like Coldplay and Franz Ferdinand.

And it's worth remebering that Rave (though I think it's shit) was a European cultural innovation.

I think part of the problem is that it's swamped by American cultural bile like Friends and cheap rap music.

So, no it's not dead.

Bah, at least they put flavour in European soda. Lucky bastards. Here they just give you highly carbonated water with a bit of sugar in it.

Ironic that your name is "Patriot Americans", yet you think globalism is good. Which is isn't. Unless you support outsourcing.

Nooo!!! I love Orangina!!

I know Orangina was the shiz! They still serve it in some American restuarants, but those are usually Pakistani and Indian restuarants for some reasons. Actually, they have a lot of it in grocery stores. I guess thats because we loves our soda! Or simply because we have such a wide variety of people and their needs very.

HA! The US will NEVER go Socialist, there was one point when like 25 percent of the country liked Socialism, and voted for Socialism. But than they realised it didnt work, I believe in the 2000 elections something like 2-3% of America voted for Socialism, in the 2004 elections it was 1 or less %.

However before the Soviet Union broke up (in the 80's election) it was 8-9%. And in the 20's and 30's elections the avg. was 25-30% Socialist aproval.

So as you can see. Not happening in this country.

Then I'll say it: it's bad - from sugar-coated, deep-fried crapola to eat to mindlessly bland, uninformative, unintelligent crapola recycled from one form of media to another...I could go on, but why wind myself up?

So screw the purveyors of Yankee Doodle Dandyism. Let them wonder why no-one wants their fizzy brown water, cheezy puffs, or the latest blonde midriff-on-the-music-chart.
