Autocratic Beliefs?

In a recent thread discussing aspects of atheism, several people weighed in of various beliefs with something in common, that their beliefs were superior to others. So please vote in this poll, and please answer as honestly as possible. Then, please post comments on things you have noted about this, whether you agree, disagree, or perhaps you have points that you think demonstrate a superiority in belief.

Little Note: If you are weak atheist (not belief in god, as opposed to belief in not god) you may find yourself more aligned with agnosticism in this poll, since the atheism in this poll is minded more towards strong atheism.

Generally when people believe that their beliefs are 'right', they hold it in higher esteem.

Not neccessarily everyone believes their beliefs must be the right ones.

How about agnostic but atheistic views are more valid.

I'm an atheist, and I believe other beliefs are equally valid; I don't agree with them, but I feel everyone is entitled to believe as they wish. My problem lies with the actions of some in the name of their beliefs - but it applies across the spectrum, rather than with one specific belief system, I think.

Oh, yes, actions are a good point. I hope everyone realizes the poll means "equally valid in explaining our world."

*bump, I think the poll shows some interesting stuff, plus I'd like to hear more thoughts*

Here's the problem--it's ridiculous to assume that all other beliefs are equally valid. That doesn't mean that other people aren't entitled to their beliefs, but I could believe that the universe was constructed of little purple monkeys who believe I'm God--my belief doesn't make it as valid as, say, quantum theory. I have every right to my belief, but it's not a valid one.

That said, I'm personally an agnostic/Deist. I think there may have been a Creator, but not one who is concerned with the lives we lead on earth, and who certainly isn't so concerned that he/she/it would punish me for the life decisions I made here on earth. I'll admit that it's entirely possible that I'm wrong--that there was no Creator or that the Christian god exists and is indeed pissed off at me--but based on the evidence I have seen to date, I think my idea is at least as solid, if not more so, than the other options.
