People or Sheeple?

The whole nonsense about Wal-mart lackies shooting a cat because their supervisor told them to got to me, and I think it's because it never ceases to amaze me how people blindly follow orders from their supervisors.

I would never agree to shoot anything at my place of work: it's not in my job description, and you're not getting me to do more work. He could do it himself.

I must be blessed because I don't mind standing my ground passionately and have no regrets, but my question to this vast, disjointed group is this: do you always do what the boss says? Do you disagree and decline? Have you walked away? Are you a passive aggressive – agree then don't follow through properly?

Let the flaming begin!

Meanwhile I would agree to shoot almost anything at my place of work. Weird. As for always doing what the boss says, hell no. I do what I think is best for the company and deal with the consequences.

Depends upon the circumstances. I once came close to telling my Battalion Commander in Vietnam to go fuck himself, but that's another story. :D

Depends on the situation. In that one, I would've outright told him "no." I don't really care if I'm fired for it. But, if something at a job goes against my morals, I won't do it. Flat out. That's not who I am.

I'm the same way, too, except I also won't do it if it'll harm me, too.

I don't mean disagree for the sake of being difficult, but disagreeing for the sake of your convictions, safety, or the fact there's a better way to do things.

I would have denied the request to kill the cat, caught the little furball, let the dumbass fire me, and taken the cat home with me. I don't care if they wanted the cat out of the trailer. There is no excuse for shooting a cat.

I have seen WM workers being overworked and overwhelmed. Getting fired from there would be more of a reward than a punishment, if you ask me. :p
