Batman, of course.

I've never been much of a fan of either, but from what I know of their strengths and abilities...definitely Superman. After all, he could catch Batman without his equipment, and then where would Batman be?

Batman might be cooler, but he is only human. Unless he has a stack of Kryptonite he is pulp.

batman would be buggered. unless you take into account that he is infinitely cooler than superman.

The problem with this question is that its already been answered in the comics...Batman has beaten Superman a number of times and I mean kicked Soperman's red ass really good.

Wish I could find my Dark Knight graphic novel. Batman kicked Supermans ass. But he didn't kill him. If you can find it, check it out. Great artwork, killer story. Multiple thumbs up!

Coolness is not only in the eye of the beholder, but it's also irrelevant.

Batman most indefinitely. He has a kryptonite in his lab. Just in case Clark turns evil or goes mad. It's for safe keeping.

There's one episode where someone infiltrates Batman's cave and then steals all his secrets, because Batman has all the information into defeating all of his JLA friends. Which at the end, Batman saves the day.

Batman's way way way smarter than Superman. Superman's quite dumb actually. Heroic and full of valor but dumb.

But strength and ability without equipment, batman hasn't has a chance.

Batman's rich enough to get hold of kryptonite whenever he wants.

If Supes really had a hard-on for Bats, and didn't give him time to prepare, Bats would be toast. Supes problem is that he ain't bad-ass nasty enough to consider how easy it would be to kill Bats if he REALLY wanted to.

The thing is, Batman would fight dirty...Superman probably wouldn't.

It's an assassin/nuker question.

It's all about who goes first, and with what preperation.

Superman and Batman have fought on a number of occassions. Batman always wins.

Superman may have powers, but a serious weakness.
Batman has no powers, but no weaknesses.

The Tower of Babel story in JLA 40ish -45ish explains Batman's plans for bringing down ALL of the superheroes.

I do have one of those lists, and I've had to use it too :sniper:

Supes can outbrawn, but Bats can outwit, and in the end, brains beats brawn.

Plus, Bats fights dirty, and Supes has hangs up about it.

Ok, if superman decided that he wanted bats dead, all he would have to do is fly as fast as he could at bats and punch him in the friggin head. Lights out. However, superman is a PUSSY and would never do that. Therefore, Batman's superior skill and intelligence would always win. Although it would be cool to see superman, even though he is such a dork, go nuts and just start bashing people. Imagine the bloodbath!!!

Ra'z'aghul or something to that tune (I forget how it's spelled) snuck into the BatCave and stole all of Batman's files on the JLA's weaknesses.

Depends on the parameters. If it's a formal brawl, given adequate time to prepare, Superman is toast. If the two are out in the field, in the manner in which they are most commonly away from base, then Superman probably has the advantage.

Batman is a sneak, manipulator, strategist, observer, and innovator, and Supes is none of those things. Superman's powers all have certain limitations. Plus, Bats is just angrier by nature.

Bats could use Supes' own strength against him, anyway.

How many superheroes could nail Batman's tail, anyway?

If he caught him at the right time, then Superman easily. But his character wouldn't allow him to so therefore batman would win. But Pumaman would own them both :D

I'm going with Superman. Batman's hella cool, and smart as well, but that doesn't make up for Superman's rather magical/fantasy type super-origin. I mean he flies without need of wings. He can go back in time and all. (Or just change the orbit of the Earth thus reversing time... magicsomehow?)

That was an awesome series. Did you read both books? The second one was hilarious - Miller made all the DC heroes super-powerful and cool.
From what I remember, in the first one Batman dons a power suit so he can go toe to toe with Superman, then the Green Arrow fires a Kryptonite arrow which of course weakens Superman, and Batman beats the crap out of him, only to have a 'heart attack' (this is set years in the future where Superman is a lackey of the government) and 'die'.
It was just Batman's way of to telling Superman to bugger off and not to interfere.

Yeah, I remember reading that one! I liked it mostly because my hero, Green Arrow, was in it, but it was still a really cool storyline.
