Curious as to whether anyone was doing their bit to stop Global Warming.

You know we only have about 20 years and then we're fucked.

20 years.

And only You can stop it, not someone else. You.

Stop looking at the other guy. It's closer than you think.

I save energy and promote alternative energy solutions because of the possibility of the non-renewable oil supply running out someday.

Not because of global warming. I have no concern over that.

forgive me for being cynical, but didn't I hear that there were similar warnings 20 years ago?

Nope. I'm all for alternative renewable energy, but my house is a complete power suck.

How come?

I'm not convinced it's a problem. If it's even happening. Local and global climate are in a constant state of change and I'm not convinced that human beings have the power to push Global climate out of it's normal range of variation.

I'm all for a cleaner environment and everything, but global warming, if it exists, had been blown way out of proportion. The planet goes through temperature cycles, and right now we are coming out of an Ice Age, so naturally it's going to get warmer. Plus, volcanos put many, many times more "greenhouse gases" into the air than humanity. So, I figure the planet is getting warmer, but naturally. Thus, I'm not buying all the tree-hugger crap about evil corporations destroying the world.
