If this thread doesn't pick up maybe we can make this into one.
Have you seen the episode of Futurama where they celebrate "Freedom Day?" (Have you seen any Futurama, for that matter?) It could be like that, it'd be great.

I missed most of the televised episodes, but I own seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. I never saw 'Freedom Day'. Sounds... promising.

I also missed most of them when they were originally shown, but I've been watching them on Adult Swim, and a friend of mine bought the complete series which I have watched from start to finish in the last week or so. The episode is called "A Taste of Freedom" and it's the fifth episode in the fourth season. Some people didn't like the later seasons as much as the earlier ones, but I think they're hilarious.

Libertarian
I've been a Democrat for 25 years, but I've had it with political parties.
Here are just a few areas where the Democratic Party and the Republican Party have no differences or at least not enough so that they are willing to discuss or debate those differences:
Role of the Federal Reserve
Trade Policy
Economic redistribution
Role and budget of the CIA
Nuclear disarmament
Reduction of the military budget and allocation of military procurement
Roles and policies of the World Bank
International Monetary Fund
World Trade Oraganization
Crime, punishment and the exlosion of prison population
War on drugs
Corporate welfare
Energy policy
Forest policy
Destruction of small farmers
Israel
Corruption of the political system
Occupation of Iraq
I'm not leaving the Democratic Party; the Democratic Party left me a long time ago. It just has taken me a while to figure it out.

Agreed, Nadar was only a spoiler even lost his own party to do it. What good is the world if you must sacrifice your soul to get it?

Redistribution, crime, corporate welfare, energy policy, and Iraq don't belong up there. Here are some issues where there ARE differences:
Healthcare
Taxes
Iraq
Crime
Corporate welfare
Environment
Gay rights
Women's rights
Poverty
Abortion
Gun Control
Prayer in public schools
Censorship
Immigration
Federal budget
Social Security

None. I would be a member of the Constitution Party if they didn't want to make the U.S. a theocracy; I would be a member of the Libertarian Party, except that I disagree with them on drugs, abortion, and immigration. So, I am not a member of any party.
I chose "None", why no Independent?

Really? And who voted to give the president power to go into Iraq? How was Kerry's position substantially different from Bush's?
That Democrats care about the poor is the biggest lie since Republicans claimed they favor smaller government. Kerry barely mentioned the poor; Clinton did little for the underclass (it took him 7 years in the White House before he visited his first Indian Reservation). Both Democrats and Republicans feed at the corporate troth and have provided and continue to provide corporate welfare.
Energy policy? Did energy policy change substantially under Clinton? He had 8 years to move us into alternative fuels. Did he even attempt to get Detroit to increase fuel standards? It was under Clinton that the boom in SUV began.
Wake up and smell the hypocrisy.
