Favorite WWII Game?

I'd put up a poll, but I'm afraid I'd miss some game and get yelled at for it.

Anywho, my personal favorite is Call of Duty - it's definitely got a desperate, epic feel to it, just because you're moving with a squad instead of crawling through endless mazes alone (in most missions). It's nice to be able to fall back occasionally when you're wounded, and let your AI teammates take care of the baddies. The quality of *most* of the missions is outstanding.

Nevertheless, I have two problems with the single player campaign-
1. Much too short
2. British campaign = t3h suk

The British campaign tends to be more of your standard FPS (esp. Dam mission), which is OK, but I was really liking the chaotic squad-based action that you get tons of in the American and Russian Campaigns.

The Russian campaign is probably the best IMO... I had a really good reason for saying that, and now I don't remember it...

Anywho, comments on CoD? Other WWII games you'd like to bring up? Go for it.

I just got that game for christmas. So far Im on The Russian campaign and doing the mission where you have to take back the bunkers in Stalingrad. I keep getting killed going through the trenches to my last pillbox.

So it is realistic, you die around every corner.

The commercial so utterly ruined it for me. . . So utterly. . . Utterly. . . Wrong. . .

I'd have to say the original Medal Of Honor, that's the best one, and the least tainted, furthest from the last of the serries.

BF1942.

Go from flying a F4U to sabotaging a Jap carrier to swimming towards an island and stealing an APC, then drive to the local airfield, get in a torpedo bomber, etc...

World War II Online. The graphics suck but it's the most realistic games in terms of damage and aircraft out there.

Totally agree with you! A realistic, tactical WWII-game without all the stupid fuss of having to build all the units. That's not even realistic! What tank factory have you seen out in the field of combat twice the size of the tanks it makes one of every 30 seconds? Oh, and one thing: Russian front is better than Battleof the Bulge.

Call of Duty Single player rocked. However my only complain was that it was too linear. And Russia always rocks! The flurry of soldiers charging in to their death. The chaos of battle that makes your blood rush and pumps adrenaline into your body.

Call of Duty defeniatley rocked because this is the first game I've ever played where you are just not the americans! The Russian campaigne was by far the best, I also enjoyed the graphics and choas. I also loved medal of honour frontline, especially the first mission on the beaches of Omaha. I think the more chotic a game is, the better it is.
