Well, I never got the miniature monkey I wanted, nor did I get a baby Tiger - but as far as both go - it was probably for the better!

I did have a dog when I was growing up, and shes irreplaceable in my heart now -- I dont think I could have done any better, I miss her.

So in a way, I think I sort of got the pet I always wanted - I just didnt know it at the time.

I had a crawfish living in my aquarium as a kid. That's kind of like a lobster.

There were two. A lion (or tiger) cub - they had massive paws, just seemed like the bestest kitty in da whole world! - and ferrets.

Well, I got one of the two, I wont elaborate on which, there's no point. We got along great until that sod bit my foot, then we had some unpleasantries.

How about a helper elephant? Or genetically engineer an elephant with a prehinsile tail and opposable thumbs.

My cousin had one.

Who got spooked by his family's cat.

And prompty sprayed the cat with its stink.

And the cat promptly ran and jumped on my mother's lap.

While she was wearing her favorite dress.

It was an ugly scene, let me tell ya...

A PIKACHU!

Hey, I was 8 alright?

I'd take a Weedle over a Pikachu.
Weedle's are the only reason to play that game or watch that show.

I always wanted (and still want) a jaguar or panther - I could never decide which one.
Or perhaps a cheetah, as apparently they can be domesticated.
I always liked the idea of having a 'Beware of the cat' sign on the gate. And watching any potential burglar trying to outrun a cheetah.

I always wanted a pet alligator to keep in the yard. It could eat burglars, annoying yappy dogs and property tax inspectors.

Then you'd want two. Some llamas go bezerk if they are raised by themselves. I don't know why. :(

Like a lot of other kids, it would seem, I wanted a monkey when I was little. I don't know what it is about monkeys that so fascinates kids, maybe it's how relatively 'human-like' they are, for animals. (But let's not start the evolution debate again!) ;)

Now I want a sunglow corn snake, and will hopefully get one once we move into a house instead of renting flats!
