Scientists are saying that the 9.0 earthquake which triggered unprecedented super tidal waves in southeast asia may have altered the earth's rotation.
Scientists are still studying the aftermath of the quake which is now sending vibrations throughout the world. They say people should expect quakes anywhere and everywhere at any time.

It ought to be noted that if they find that the quake was powerful enough to peturb earth's rotation, we know that in the past, when such events occured, it always predicated major global climate change and massive extinctions.
Only problem is we don't know what kind of change is going to take place. A safe bet might be that we might enter a new ice age. Or things might kind, of start warming up. Or we could just start having super storms that obliterate small villages. But it is clear the earth change has started.

According to Fox News, the earthquake took place along a 640 mile long line on the ocean bottom.

the earthquake triggered tsunamies that brought massive damage and mammoth death counts from India to Indonesia to Africa. Tsunamies were reported as far away as South America which also reported earthqaukes at the same time as the one in the Indian Ocean.

"We recorded tsunami waves along the coast of South America, on the coast of American Samoa, in Fiji, even Mexico, and the west coast of the United States," Weinstein said."

It's been a multi-ocean tsunami," he added. "It's probably the first multi-ocean tsunami since Krakatoa."

Meantime the New York Times (a pay site) is reporting that 1/3 of the dead around the world from this event are children.

World Wide, more than 22,002 people have been killed. The death count could get as high as 120,000 thousands.
12 people in Somalia were killed by Tsunamies caused by the quake off South East Asia.

Ok, I am finding reports that aftershocks from the quake have just hit China and Afghanistan causing mass damage in those nations. The areas hit were north afghan. and Western China, where it is reported the quake completely demolished a monastery.

Small quakes have been detected along the US west coast, South
America, throughout the carribean, the central and south atlantic, throughout Europe, southern parts of Australia, central africa. So far the only place that hasn't been hit is Russia, but there was one tremor detected in central Siberia near the Kazahk border. Supposedly, these have occured since the 9 pointer in the indian ocean.
Any one feel any of these?

Come to think of it, it is possible that that is what is happening. A simple reversal of the poles. But even if that were all, we would still be in for the resulting climate change.

They say the reversal will take 2000 years or something like that. The planet itself wouldn't change its roatation (at least not much) from a reversal to affect major climate change.

It may be a strong quake but that's not conclusive proof of anything yet.

If it was daytime when the quake happened then we've been pushed farther from the sun. If it was nighttime then we've been pushed closer.

Well, the Bible talks about a world wide earthquake, but at the same time from the sound of it. This could very well be the trigger for such a thing, but I don't think that's the case.

I am in the states.

We have an office in India. One half of the work force in the states are from the Region. We have one from Sri Lanke and he did not show up today. His boss said he will be out for awhile :(

Reports from the people with family say it was mixed. Some felt tremors and many did not. There was no warning as even the news agencies reported dead with the swiming gear on. I also hear that anybody on the ocean is considered lost(ie fishermen).

I watched that in the middle of the night, and after it was done, I switched to the news. I was really tired, so nothing was making sense. I saw the earthquake on the news and something about a tsunami. So I walked to my front door and opened it, and then I saw all the snow.

I yelled "Oh my god, it's TRUE!", and fell off my porch, before realizing what the hell I was doing and that it was about 3 am.

End result being my neighbor came out and asked me if I was drunk, and told me to shut the hell up while people were sleeping.

As limited as our sight is, (aliterally speaking), we can't really say for sure. But as stated by Black Forrest, only time will tell as it continues on.

It says that because the people of the time really didn't have a conept of such things lol. It's like "shooting stars." We know now that they are actually rocks burning up in earth's atmosphere...but most people back then thought they were stars that had fallen out of the sky. God had to be able to get through to people and not confuse them overmuch hehe.

It is being reported that the geography of the region has changed. Islands have been moved from their locations of 3 days ago by 67 feet.

Can anyone explain to me the mechanics of an earthquake affecting the earth's rotation? Even explaining a marginal change would be good, let a change of the order of a second a day!
