"pure punk" would be the Misfits. If you're going to go the hybrid route it'd be Napalm Death (prior to the loss of all original members, of course).

The greatest are the originals from CBGB where "Punk" evolved. They are (believe it or not) The Talking Heads, Blondie, and The Ramones.
