I need computer help. Its been a frustrating day with Full Spectrum Warrior for PC. I first couldnt find the CDkey and then my comp crashed in teh middle of installation and now I am on my 4th hour of working on this. I start the gmae and then a msg comes up saying that createdevice failed. So i tried to download Directx update and then service pack 2 for WinXP and that fialed about 4-5 times becasue I didnt have enough HD space on the HD I didnt want to use(I hate windows can you tell?) I cleared 4 gigs just to satisfy it adn it is now downloading/installing what appears to be fine. But can anyone help me with what to do if it doesnt work still? My Comp is fairly new and meets all requierments...

Also, you can't help someone with a problem when you don't know if it isn't already fixed. Let us know what happens once you've upgraded directX and installed service pack 2. Additionally, make sure you've got the latest drivers for your graphics and sound card aswell.

I do have the latest drivers and such. As for the message it as in a small box entitled Direct3D and all it said was Createdevice failed

it means the game hates you, just ignore it unless it consistently happens, then screw with direct x

Ok so let us know what happens when you've got DX 9c and sp 2 installed

Sounds like you might be running low on virtual memory if you had to free up that much space. if you have further problems, you might want to try clearing up as much HD space as you can (delete internet cache and cookies, uninstall any programs you don't use anymore, etc...) and then defrag the HD. if this clears up the problem but you still have preformance issues, a larger HD or perhaps a second one dedicated to being virtual memory only may help.

Also if your computer only "meets" requirements, odds are that will mean that the computer will run the program, but performance may suffer. some gameplay settings might be adjustable to combat this, such as running in lower resolution modes or turning off 'extra' features.

One other thing to check would be how many programs are running in the system 'tray' (these will be represented by small icons next to the clock). In 8 years of working on computers, I have often noticed that the customers complaining of slow system performance and memory problems had 7-10 icons on average. These programs are all taking up memory space leaving less for other programs to run in. Removing these programs may clear up some performance issues you are having.

Other than these reccommendations, I can't really tell you anything else that may help, except to check with the software vendor to see if this is a known issue with the game, and if any patches/solutions have been published to correct it.
