I'm gonna (if i can) donate money to the relief efforts, and if you aren't some scumbag imperialist I-hate-the-rest-of-the-world kinda person, you will too. Or at least say that your sad.

Well right now i'm afraid charity begins at home... I've been trying to make more money, and I will try my best to donate anything to help those caught in the disaster... but the question is, where do I send it to-got an address?

My uncle was in Sri Lanka on holiday, but luckily he's fine, just the ground floor of his hotel flooded. It's a tragic, tragic loss of life. I just hope this event and the people who died are remebered, considering thousands more died than in 9/11.

Holy shit. I saw the thread title and figured someone had posted in the wrong forum; it just seemed like too much. That's really... shitty? I don't think that even begins to describe it, but it's the best I can do.

Try donating more often. giving money to bums on the street donation to blood drives all kinds of little things. you shouldnt be some p9ig who wants to look good by only donating when something major happens you should donate all the time

How about "I can barely afford to eat and the only reason I even get online is because I use the free computers at the library"? Is that an acceptable reason not to donate?

Go ahead and cry. I can barely afford my own life. How about you donate some of that money my way, so I can pay my bills?

What do you do for a living, eh?

And if your so poor, then why do you play this game so much? Shouldn't you be out there working to enhance your way in life? Hmmmm? HMMMMM?

Besides, you prolly make 1000x what most of the people hit by the tsunami's made BEFORE the tsunami.

Thank goodness for this post.

I was concerned that the only post on this subject may have been the cynical and opportunistic one here :

I work part time at the gas station across the street from my apartment while I try to finish my degree, while paying off all my damn loans.

Do you want me to say I'm selfish? I'm selfish.

Can't be the US since the EU (like allways) pays most of the third world help. The US is the state that gives,as a separate state the most € (have to count in the world leading money now) to the 3th world and so on. But when we see the larger picture and count the € of the EU states together, then we come to a budget that surpases the US one by factor 3 . When it comes to those states apart and the budget that a government gives, compared to the annual budget of that state, then countries like France, Germany, Belgium arrive at 6 times the amount that a US citizen gives to the 3th world aso.

Like allways, when we look a bit further then the propaganda, it is not the US that is helping. In fact it is doing very poor regarding the triple amount of € that goes each year to the world and even more poort when we watch the budget pro capita that goes to the ones that needs it the most.
