The Monkees' film Head

Since there really isn't anything better for me to do right now, I thought I'd ask this question: anyone see the film Head starring the Monkees?

I thought it was painful, but pretty much summed up the pre-fab four, though I still love their music (Daily Nightly, Pleasant Valley Sunday, Mary Mary, and Love is Only Sleeping being personal faves).

What are your thoughts if you had the gall to sit through it? :headbang:

He co-wrote it, it's true, and there's his "blink and you miss it" cameo which I loved. His and Frank Zappa's appearances were fabulous! :D Even Sonny Liston was kewl.

But I found Head to be a fairly destructive film in that it took easy shots at four stoned out singer/actors who were on the verge of being has-beens anyway. If the film was skewing powerful film execs, for instance, I would be more inclined to agree that it was subversive... :D
