Anyone here like Spam? I've never actually tried the stuff, but I can't see how plain shoulder pork can be that bad. And it comes in such a pretty blue can! Any other processed meat products I should try?

I tried spam once, but didn't like it at all. Teriyaki beef jerkey is a very good processed meat in my opinion.

Well, nothing beats jerky. But I really can't imagine Spam would be all that bad. Not necessarily good, but not bad. I've heard it's really salty.

So no one here likes Spam? Or have none of you tried it?

I tried the Turkey-Flavored kind, and in all honesty, it wasn't that bad...it tasted like ham though, when it should have tasted like turkey...that was a bit confusing.

depends on how you cook it...I remember in China my grandmother would make stuff with spam sometimes and it was actually ok, pretty good...
but the processed meat product i recommend is rou song...i don't know what it is in english, but it's kind of like shredded jerky but better *nod* goes good with sticky rice porridge...again very bad translation XD

My 8th grade teacher used to have spam parties. The stuff was (and still is) pretty nasty.

I've had Spam. It was pan-fried. Not too bad, actually, but not the pinnacle of modern dining either.

I like Spam in small doses. Like beef logs. I can have a little and it'll be great but get more than three mouthfuls and it's yucky.

Alleged reconstituted pig processing byproducts never appealed to me, and even less so when put in a can.

Spam isn't plain.


The labeled ingredients on the original SPAM are chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added, salt, water, sugar and sodium nitrite.

And it tastes BAD. Now I've had fritters, I've had in in pasta, in sandwiches I've even had sausage, egg, spam, spam, spam and chips.

Its gross.

Now corned beef - now thats a processed meat product. You cannot beet corn beef. A little corn beef, a little BBQ sause, a end slice of white bread and a microwave on high power for 30 seconds - thats good eating.

I knew a guy who would take an entire shoulder of corned beef tramping, that and 2 loaves of bread and it was all he ate for up to 4 days.
